i got the chomp sms [[i really love it, btw]] but it only seems to give me my texts when i have my phone screen on..does anyone else have this problem..? cause i want to use this app but im iffy about not getting my text. please help. thanks! and one more thing..does anyone use the different color LED light for the text? cause i tried setting it to another color besides green but it doesn't work. it just turns green still..im also using a HTC hero.

I use chompSMS, and I personally think it is better than handcent (I have tried both).

I haven't had this issue, so I would say it was a setting problem.

I would first make sure all of your alert options are turned on, there is an option to make the screen wake up briefly when you receive a text.

As for the green light, I have just tested it and it flashes green whatever I pick, so I assume that feature isn't supported on the Hero.

I was having a problem with missing texts, so I installed Missed Reminder it's a great app.

But many report that is has significant lag compared to chomp.

I say this to everyone on reply, if the majority of feedback Is good, with a few reporting problems then just download and try It yourself. Worst case scenario is you don't like it and have to uninstall!

Try chomp, handcent and if you like neither go back to the default

Agreed - that's why I'd never recommend one over the other as has been done in earlier posts.
