While I doubt that this means Gingerbread will be released soon, I'm going to continue to hope that it does. Of course for me, I won't even have it until Moto decides to update the DX about 4 months after the release and then I am going to wait for an easy root method before I update.
Every other release they received the statue about a week or two before the actual announcement. So I'm thinking they announce within the next two weeks. Hopefully it'll be like the froyo release and N1 owners get a leak shortly after that.
If someone did that to Google one would have to hope that Google doesn't take their security as seriously as Apple. Otherwise there'd be Police and FBI out looking for that overgrown cookie!!!

It honestly depends on whether or not the cookie crosses state lines. I'm pretty sure that taking the "cookie" across State lines would make it a Federal crime. In California the statute for Grand Theft is goods or services over $400. And a cookie that tall can't be cheap!

crossing a state line would make it a Federal jurisdiction...
buti I dont think .. FBI would take up the case. Minor theft/crime. If I steel a motocycle and ride home to my state. I dont think FBI would get involved.

If it cost Google more than $400 for that Gingerbread cooking... it becomes Grand Theft by statute. Grand Theft is a felony. And Felony flight can be considered a Federal crime. It probably would depend on the U.S. Attorney and whether or not he/she wanted to prosecute...
