Help No headset?

It really does NOT come with a headset. You'll have to buy that separately.

I have a wired headset I use for calls (no music control buttons). I had to buy an adapter to convert from 2.5mm to 3.5mm. I've noticed with that headset that the mic mute switch on the headset doesn't work for calls through the Droid... works fine through my home cordless phone.

The point of me telling you this is, I don't know what all kinds of buttons and features can and are built into different headsets, but the functionality may not all be supported by the device.

Hehe ok thanks for your reply :) The only thing I really need is a headset that has a mic attached to it so that I can walk n' talk at the same time with the phone in my pocket. I do that alot this time of the year :)

Verizon (yes verizon, not motorola) is super stingy with what comes in box. Before the droid me and my wife tried t-mobile with the Mytouch and Cliq. Both of those came with headsets, little pouches (i think the cliq did at least, we still have the MyTouch's pouch), and screen protectors (nice ones like you would buy, not the crappy static cling ones most phones have that some people leave on as screen protectors) in addtion to the standard accesories phones come with. The mytouch 3g came with soooo much and in a really nice case. I couldn't even believe. I was majorly disapointed when i unboxed my droid, having just unboxed the mytouch 5 days earlier. Then i turned the droid on, played for 5 minutes and all disappointment vanished.

Then I must just cross my fingers that it is different with the MILESTONE I ordered =)

But can anyone point me in the direction of a headset that fullfills these requirements:

- Bluetooth
- Has Answer call button that works on Droid/Milestone
- Not too expensive

Extra working buttons for music-swapping would be cool as well :)

It may very well come with more. The motorola Cliq for t-mobile comes in the exact same box the droid comes in for verizon (except the picture on the front is different obviously) but it came with much more in the box.

as far as a bt headset, i just bought and love the voyager 855
Amazon.com: Plantronics VOYAGER855 PLANTRONICS VOYAGER 855 BLUETOOTH STEREO HEADSET: Cell Phones & Service
40 bucks on amazon, originally 120. It can conver into a stero headset or be just a mono. I had a set of Motorola S9s before this and i do miss having the music controls a little, but being able to turn it from a good talking headset to a good music headset is well worth it. The S9 was terrible for voice calls, but excellent for music, the Voyager 855 is good at both.

Hi Kasperknop, the UK Milestone I received today has a headset in the box. It's just a cheap pair of in-ear headphones though - no inline controls - so I'm using my regular Sennheisers.

I've just tried a Nokia inline headset control from an N97 and can confirm that does NOT work with the Milestone.

I don't want to point blame at Verizon for this. I mean it did come with a 16gb memory card while none of their other devices do. Verizon's BlackBerries come with headsets. It may have been Motorola didn't ship it, or that they needed to pick 16gb or headset and went with the memory for sake of cost.

True the 16gb memory card is nice. I personally would prefer the card to a headset cause i hate wired headsets anyway. maybe verizon isnt stingy, t-mobile is generous and that is what i have to compare to for recent phone purcases. 4gb card, headset, screen protector in box was very awesome, not to mention you can add a car charger AND a hard shell for 30 bucks.

This post is very helpful. :) I was wondering what to do about headphones. I can't add to rep from my phone.

Does the droid really come without a headset?

And does this mean that it will not support a headset with volumebuttons, musiccontrol-buttons and accepting calls-button if I buy such headset seperatly?

So there are actually people that still use wired headsets for phone calls? Maybe music, but why for phone calls. Even for music most people are switching to stereo Bluetooth.

Sure , I still use Wired headsets on my phone sometimes to make calls. It's helpful when your at home or something, Your in a Queue and you want your hands free {otherwise you may be holding your phone to your ears for ages talking to no one lol}... So I use the the wired headset to free my hands and get typing on AF Or any work I may have work **Cough** :p

It's listed under headsets at the top left of the page.

"Delivering digital stereo sound through a 3.5 mm jack, this lightweight yet fashionably fun headset settles into the ear comfortably. The headset features an easy-to-use control button so you can answer or end phone calls and change songs all with a single touch. Talk on the phone, watch video clips, play games, or listen to songs with the BlueAction Hybrid Stereo Headset optimized for your Smartphone."

It's $19.99 and I think it's BT.
