Help Screen freeze

I have had my Droid since November 2009, it is not rooted and I am not running a task killer. I am only running 19 apps and have not added any in months. That said, last week 4 days in a row, the screen froze, three times when I pushed the power button to turn on the screen and once when I was ending a call. I did a battery pull each time and the phone worked again. I called customer service, they said it was the phone and sent me a refurbished one. The refurbished one had a defective power button, I could not activate it, so I called, sent it back and they are sending me another one. The phone has not froze again in a week. I am wondering if this was just something random with one of the apps and not sure I want to take the trouble to activate a refurbished phone that may have other problems. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Well, if you don't activate it, then you won't have a Droid to use. Most refurb phones are just fine, but every now and then there is one that has issues. I would say that you might as well activate it and go from there.

As for the issue, it could have been an app or something else that caused the screen freeze issue. I would start by installing each app individually or at least just install like five at a time. Then wait a day or two to see if any of the apps you are installing are causing issues.
