Had the full version of kies running fine. Could tether and, more importantly, could sync outlook. Now after the "update", the full version will connect with my phone but will not allow me to sync or tether...THANKS AT&T!
It appears that the JH7 update removes the ability to fully use the full Kies program by replacing Kies with Kies ((firmware update) in the SETTINGS:APPLICATIONS:USB SETTINGS, that stips your ability to use the full Kies program. Ironically, the build number is "Bugless Beast Teaser". Thanks AT&T for restricting my phone but not fixing the GPS problem (still takes forever to sync with GPS and is very inaccurate.
So, I am going to return to stock, root, install lag fix, reload programs and play with the GPS fixes that are on XDA...ug. Or maybe I will just return the phone and wait until they fix all the problems then buy a new captivate then. It really sucks that I really like so much about this phone but AT&T seems hellbent on screwing with it's customers. I have not really seen ANY plus to the "update" but rather same old problems (lag & GPS) with a stripped down version of Kies.....
Has anyone found a workaround on this?
