Help automatic music pause when receiving phone call?

When I receive a call while listening to music in my headphones the music stops, which is nice. I unplug my headphones and take the call, but when I end the call whatever music I was listening to starts blasting out of the internal speaker until I either plug my headphones back in or stop the music. Does anyone know how to have the music continue to be paused when you end the call?

Thanks!

Have you considered getting a wired handfree kit? That way you dont have to unplug anything , just press a button to take the call and when the call is over your music resumes. I have been doing it that way for years.

As far as your question....idk.

Master B,

That's a good idea! Unfortunately I'm kind of a stickler for audio quality and stereo bluetooth just doesn't do it for me. Also, bluetooth headsets in general tend to bother me unless I really need them (ie when I'm driving). Thank you for the suggestion, though!

I poked around a bit and found that when you unplug the headphones when you're listening to music it will pause the music. Not sure why it loses this functionality when you've got an incoming call though.

Try our Astro Player. It works exactly as you wish. If the headset was unplugged during incoming call, it will be paused after the call. More info: http://www.astroplayer.com

This happens when you stream internet music or when using your handset's music player? I've never had this happened with the device's music player, I've only experienced this only while internet streaming Last.Fm though wired headphones (unplugged for call, plugged back in after call and music routed thru external speakers). Pandora, however, automatically pauses music when you unplug wired headphones, thus avoiding potentially awkward situations. I agree with GrandMaster B, invest in bluetooth set, especially since they finally work with Droid after the 2.0.1 update.

It's when I am streaming from pandora.com. Just like the original said - listen to music with headphones - get a call - unplug headphones - take call - end call - music comes out of phone speaker. I want the music to stay paused after I end the call.

I have the same problem. I think the issue is that when an incoming call occurs, the phone app is launched and the media player goes to the background. The media player probably does not realize the headphone was unplugged during the phone call. It seems the media player should check the system state (e.g. Are there headphones attached) before resuming playing the audio file.

I am on 2.2 (FroYo - aka Bugless Beast) and to me it seems like what you want is now happening - Whenever music is playing and something interrupts it (even with BT devices, no devices, etc) the music is paused - and you have to manually un-pause it.

I have not confirmed it for non stock music layers, but it seems to do this with Pandora and the stock player.

I'll investigate more this weekend and report back.

If it does, then you're in luck, b/c FroYo starts shipping out to DROIDs starting Monday.

I was experiencing this same problem recently and decided to write an app to help.

The app detects when you unplug your headphones/disconnect your bluetooth while the phone is ringing or on a call and silences your music volume.

It doesn't pause the music (that would require control over the music player, which I can't seem to acquire :)), but it at least silences your music volume so it doesn't start blasting once your off the call.

App is called Music Minder & Music Minder Free.
