Help Sound through BT?

Is the Captivate supposed to send sounds such as turn by turn through BT? When my jawbone is connected, it works fine for phone calls, but the sound for turn by turn comes out of the phone speaker...on the music player it also doesn't "see" my jawbone when asking to use BT..but it will see my Moto S9 headset...seems a little strange..anybody else have that?

My gues is that your jawbone headset is not compatible with the A2DP profile. Which is a pretty standard profile for streaming high quality audio via bluetooth. That would explain why it would work with your other headset.

This is common since handsfree type headsets are usually mono with a microphone. There are designed for communication, not streaming high quality audio.

I have noticed the same thing. My phone wouldnt play music and such on my Jabra handsfree but will over my in car pioneer deck. Same goes for the Nav voice and other audio notification services like vlingo. When a researched it, that is what I cam up with, and it made scence for me. So unfortunatly, we are out of luck on that one, it has nothing to do with the phone, its the design of the headsets.

This may be completely irrelevant but... I have a Moto S9 myself and I got thrown by one of its features which might be relevant here...

The S9 can pair with multiple devices. I don't know if the Captivate can also pair with multiple devices as well. Is it possible that you've paired with the S9 for A2DP and with the Jawbone for Calls? Again... this may not even be possible but...

I used to pair my iPod Touch with the S9 for stereo audio / A2DP and then pair my Captivate with it. The only annoying things were that you had to do the pairing in the right order and that the S9 would pause music when a call came in but wouldn't un-pause when the call finished. Aside from that it worked great.

And if none of this is possible / relevant then please forgive me. :)

I'm not sure I even know how to pair a device just for calls only? I paired the jawbone icon first..then paired the S9. For some reason the s9's are provisioned for multimedia and calls..the icon only for phone calls. Not a super big problem, but for nav it would be nice to hear the directions in the earpiece..specially if the windows are open

In my case... I had to pair the iPod first then the Captivate to make it work. I assumed that since the iPod couldn't "talk phone" that the Captivate grabbed whatever was "left over".

I paired the jawbone icon first..then paired the S9.

What happens if you try it the other way around?

Just tried it..unpaired, then paired again...same deal. A long press..then options only shows phone for the icon..but for the S9 it shows phone & media
