Hi Guys,

I've modified Fab's REVOlution theme for ApeX 1.0 and stock froyo. The stock froyo version's untested but the ApeX version is pretty solid.
Detailed instructions and all my xml files are up for anyone who wants to do this on their own.

It is advisable to install these mods after REINISTALLING Fab's original REVO (ApeX or STOCK) themes.

Thanks

Green battery framework-res.apk (use adb)

White battery framework-res.apk (use adb)

Fab_REVO_ApeX_10%_MOD_G.zip

Fab_REVO_ApeX_10%_MOD_W.zip

Requirements: Rooted, Koush's Droid X Bootstrapper, Fab's Revo for Stock or ApeX rom.

Instructions

1. Download the .zip file to your sd card
2. Reboot into Clockwork recovery
3. Go to system and mount and mount system (should read unmount if done correctly)
4. Go back to the main menu and Install .zip from sd card

Thanks to:
Fabolous - for a great ROM and several great themes.
aflat - partner in crime; helped me figure this stuff out.
Fightspit - for the great icons
Qliratu - for the online cooking tool. Use it to generate your battery pngs. UOT Kitchen

Awesome...Do NexTheme for ApeX next...Do NexTheme for ApeX next (if it's cool with Fab)

It changes color when it discharges, right?
I may push your's to NexTheme and see what happens, I's got the nandroids :D

I got NexTheme to do 20s last night with a circle battery, but I think I like your Batt Icon better.

The method will be or is the above method already universal...meaning, does it only change the battery Icon / reporting and nothing else?
It would be great to flash with clockwork and change only the battery icon in the status bar like Fab has done with the clock removal.

I think Fab's got 2 versions of NexTheme going, one for ApeX and the Original.

You cannot flash and replace the battery icon only if you want 10% increments. You have to actually mod the xml files and recompile the framework-res.apk. Decompiling and recompiling themed framework-res.apk was the issue. But there is a work around for that. Just need to streamline the process.

Flashed the Clockwork version. Running fine, just have a hybrid Rev/Nex thing going now :D
I leave this mod for a bit, see if anything goes sideways, and let you know.

I really want NexTheme with a circle battery Icon at 10% increments, just not smart enough to do it myself...yet.

cool.. will try it out. I'm a faithful Fab disciple. I'll let you know.

Edit: I installed it from Rom Mgr. Installed fine. I like it .....................

..........................but............................

It's very green. It is the only green thing on my desktop. Any chance of a different color or white? TIA. :D

@steven:
The icons can be changed to whatever you like. If you like another icon set, please link it and I'll take care replace them for you :D.
Also, you can open the .apk in 7zip and replace the .pngs. My modded framework-res has 5,10,15,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 as well as 20 charging pngs. You can change those pngs but if you add any more, they won't be recognized until you recompile the apk.

Thank you. What I would love would be white, since I have a dark screen. I don't know where the XDA thread is on all this, but there were a million different icons. I didn't bookmark it.

PS: You'd change it for me? Steven blushes. TIA!:p

OK, ran it for over 2 hours...works fine as far as I can tell, Nice work!

Can't wait for a 10% Circle Battery version of NexTheme for ApeX :D

Cool, grats on getting this working in a more universal manner. I could only get it working on my framework-res. I got it to work on the vanilla Apex rom too, so I know the same method works there as well.

Also, I haven't looked into it, probably will this weekend, but I think since the xml's are changed, the lockscreen battery icons can be changed as well to show 10% increments.

Cool, I see what you did with those .xmls

I'll play around with this when I get off work tonight. I'm gonna try to get those white battery icons from XDA working.

YES! YES! YOU DO THE FIX. See here for the reason why I want you to do it -------->
Because I already paid you!!!! hahaha! I crack myself up! :D

Here is the modded framework-res in white. Changing the colors is just a matter of replacing the .pngs if you are on ApeX.

I'll write up the full method tonight for any theme (when I get home).

The white icon version is in the OP. Enjoy :D

@aflat: thanks for all the help man. And yeah modding the stock apk is straight forward but getting modding themed apks is a little convoluted.
