Root Your favorite ROM/Kernel combination?

current favorites (after literally trying them all):
rom - evio 1.4
kernel - kings #6 bfs

titanium over mybackup any day. i have paid versions of both. titanium is much much faster and backs up everything. i can flash a rom and restore all my apps, app data and system data in under 15 minutes.

to restore bookmarks using titanium, restore "[BOOKMARKS] Internet 2.2" or do a batch restore "Restore missing apps + all system data"

How's the battery life. I'm still on the stock kernel and the battery life is sinking quickly

I just finished flashing Myn's Warm 2.2 and Kings' #11. The reports coming from XDA suggested they would play well together. I'll be unplugged for most of the day tomorrow and will keep the Juice plotter running. So far I like this ROM & Kernel combo.

Soon after my last post, I installed kings #11 and it slowed down my battery loss big time. Downloaded and flashed the kernel while on the go... man I love this phone :p

I know. It just doesn't get old. In case you're curious about the Sprint Hotspot app included in Myn's 2.2, it seems to work o.k. with 3G, but turns off your 4G connection. Stick with the WiFi Tether app. My quadrant scores, for what they're worth, are nearly identical to those obtained running Fresh 3.3 w/ Netarchy 4.1.9 cfs. I max out at 1503. Battery life will be the true test, as the Fresh/Netarchy combo was superb. I can always go back...

you are paying $10 a month for the phone, not 4g ... according to sprint anyways .....
either way i envy your 4gness !!

Trust me, 4G is much more important to me than a quadrant score, I just wanted to see what all the cyanogen hype was all about. Its not bad but I won't be on it for long knowing that I'm paying $10 a month for 4g. I'm just looking to see what's out there.

I'll probably wind up going back to the fresh netarchy combo soon enough.

also what is a quadrant score ?

Out of curiosity, I just switched from Fresh 3.3 w/ Netarchy 4.1.9 cfs to Myn's 2.2. Myn's stock kernel was quickly replaced with King's #11, which showed better (very good) battery performance than stock on my phone. But not as good as the Fresh/Netarchy combo. I'm now running the Myn's 2.2 (man I love this ROM) with Netarchy 4.1.9. cfs non HAVS using SetCPU with profiles enabled. We shall see... It's looking really good!

Just started using the VirusAirborne Rom (Sense-less) and pretty amazed right after I booted. Then I flashed the most recent Ziggy Kernel and am very pleased.
So far better performance then the Sense Roms I've been using, i.e. Fresh, Ava, and a few others with KingsKernel
I'm going to give the Sense Based Virus Rom a try sometime this week and the new Frost Rom.

So far my current set up is my fave.

another vote for myn tpt getting better battery after king #11. I really like to look of the rom because of the extras such as black keyboard and launcher pro icons. although I have not had luck getting the swype custom keyboard font to work. really appreciate the work people put into their roms

Goodness, I'm getting pretty sweet battery life just using Myn's ROM and the stock kernel that comes along with it. I'm not sure I want to make the plunge...<itchytriggerfinger>.

I also live in a 4g area, but rarely use it since it sucks the battery. I'm another CM 6.1 user, but I use the baked kernel, Snap wasn't playing well with it. For me Myn's was the prettiest rom out there, but Fresh was my favorite sense rom, but I always go back to Cyanogen. It's my all time favorite and daily driver.

I am using Fresh 3.4 with netarchy 1.4.9cfs (the universally compatible release with "unaggressive" undervolting). This seems to be the sweet spot for me...overclocked at 1190mHZ my issues with screen lockups and random restarts seem to be finally solved. As a bonus: I've noticed the phone seems to perform better with this ROM/kernel combo, so I tried running a quadrant benchmark test. I used to score right around 1,000 or less (not very good), now I'm up to 1,300 regularly...a shade less than Nexus One according to the graph. I don't care too much about quadrant tests, but it's worth noting.

I tend to alternate between Vaelpak, Fresh and Cyanogen. Myn is also one of the better roms for me, but was less stable after the last update. I just loaded new fresh and stock kernel and it stable and fast. Battery life also seems pretty strong after resetting battery stats. I was running cyanogen rc 6.1, but had a number of force closes so I've moved on. I ran vaelpak 2.2 for a while prior and it was very solid and fast with kk #11. I am really looking forward to one of the new desire HD roms getting the camera going, but until that happens it's just not a daily for me. (I've tried a ton of others, but haven't enjoyed them las much as the ones I mentioned).
