Use your G1 as a remote keyboard

haven't used this one because gmote is better but the app is awesome to have if you've got a home theater pc. I have two. gmote works with both of them on the same network.

gmote is nothing like remoteserver. im actually typing this post from my g1 that is connected to my computer as a wireless keyboard. lots of people said they were having problems using it on vista, but im using vista and im having zero problems. it was just a simple download and unzip. gmote only controls you media, which is way cool, but remoteserver is a wireless keyboard and mouse. 2 different programs. by the way, they are both wat bad ass apps. i highly recommend to download and run. peace peace.

if you hit menu in gmote there is a tab called touch pad that works like laptop touch pad. the track ball scrolls pages up and down and the keyboard works as well, long press is right click. I've got nothing against competition or anything it just seems like who ever wrote gmote put a lot of effort into it and then this app comes around and kinda rips it off.

I use VNC viewer in the office which effectively does the same thing BUT you get the added bonus of seeing the pc desktop ON your android device aswell as being able to move the mouse about

I have mostly all the remote apps for the G1 and this one just feels smoothr then the rest with more capabilities. I do like the GMOTE and I think that it does a great job what its designed to do. This one however does all mouse movements and left click and right click which allows you to open your videos and pictures just like you were at the computer. IMHO that is very useful to sit back and be able to open up a browser and type like I am doing now ... LOL Thats right I am on the Remotedroid now typing this on my G1 ... Awesome!!!!!

Other than this being "neat", I don't see the practical use in this, at least for me. I have a 17-inch screen on my laptop. My mouse is already wireless. My keyboard is way bigger and more comfy than the G1 keyboard.

No, Gmote does both media and works as a touch pad/keyboard for your computer. And it works much much better than this app. Give it a try.

thats such an interesting idea. if someone wrote a driver that spoofed the wii into taking it as a usb keyboard, then their internet channel would actually be useful!
