Hi guys, I'm new here as a member, but I always come to this site when I have a problem with my Evo, but this time I'm registering because I have a big problem that I can't find a solution to, I searched the forums but I couldn't. So anyway, here's my problem, I rooted my Evo for the first time yesterday using unrevoked, it worked and all, but I only did this so I could uninstall the HTC Sense UI, I downloaded the Titanium Back Up app I made a back up of the Sense UI before uninstalling it after that I uninstalled it, then it said it was successful in doing so but I pressed the home button but it took me to the dial pad as if I was gonna make a call, I pressed the back arrow and it took me to the settings menu and I kept trying to get back to my home screen but it wouldn't let me, then I turned the phone off and back on and it started up normally but it never got past the 4G logo on the screen, after that I looked trough forums for solution and tried to reset the phone to factory settings it worked, it got past the 4g logo and onto the unlock screen and past the tutorial and set up but after I finish step 4 of the set up I get this message "the application Setup (process com.htc.android.htcsetupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and I press ok, scroll down to unlock and the screen goes black. Now I don't know what to do, I could not find anything that would help me. I only rooted my Evo because I wanted to turn off or uninstall the Sense UI and see what Android 2.2 look the way it was meant by Google, now I don't know what to do, can someone help me? please? I would be very grateful.

you can't uninstall sense without first picking an alternative home app. that was your home.

the solution is somewhat easy

backup all of your apps with titanium
find a rom and flash it. either a stock rom or custom rom.

you will find these over at xda, link is in my sig.

power up the phone while pressing the volume down button to get into recovery
follow the directions in how to root on this page

install titanium and put your apps back
go back to recovery and make a NANDROID BACKUP
now delete what you wish..you have a back up but do some more research before deleting that sense stuff...or simply nab you a rom that is senseless

Easy, download the stock rom for the HTC Evo and place it in the ROOT of your microSD card. Then reboot to the bootloader, by holding the volume down rocker and the power button till it turns on, if I'm not mistaken, it should automatically load the official rom and ask if you want to flash it.

I thinks that should help.

Mr. Ed thank you so much! my Evo lives! yes! you are awesome! I have learned my lesson...thanks again!

Tell me about it, I was checking the list of apps to remove and before I could get to the ones that I was NOT supposed to remove, I removed the telephony.apk thinking it was a part of TTS and only to find out that was the fuggin phone itself. It keep saying it stopped unexpectedly and kept doing it non stop and my signal was "x" as in no service so i just had to keep force closing it while in the mean time it kept coming back over and over but just for the 1 sec I could select apps I had to select my sdx installer and install telephony, took me a while to get it back but I did. Like you I learned a lesson and will leave things alone, I am rooted, got rid of apps and backed them up also. I am nervous now and will wait a bit and recover from that scare and then try to flash a ROM. Thought I had a HTC EBrick 4G.
