Root ChevyNo1 - Ssx 1.1 ROM

First off - Merry Christmas!

Secondly - there are no screenshots yet, nor an unthemed version. It is Xmas so I won't be on long. That stuff will follow. This is based off 2.3.340 (/system). Hence the larger download size. Testing thus far has indicated that you MUST upgrade to 2.3.320 at a minimum. Plus all market apps refreshed.

Thirdly - I have only had two testers, no issues yet. One thing is clear though, again, you must upgrade to minimum 2.3.320 via OTA or SBF.

Not much else is new since I've been so busy. However, wanted to get a fresh update out

If while installing Ssx 1.1 you get an error message while installing asking your to force close or wait, select wait, then hit the power button and reboot. You'll be fine. It's a glitch with ClockworkMod Recovery.

Running it now... its a great BLUR ROM... I like it because using his Chevytools you can take out the Blur you don't want easily. I overclock using jrummy's tools instead of chevy's and its still fast. This might just be the ticket I've been waiting for.

Running it now... its a great BLUR ROM... I like it because using his Chevytools you can take out the Blur you don't want easily. I overclock using jrummy's tools instead of chevy's and its still fast. This might just be the ticket I've been waiting for.

Blue theme is built into the rom its a "simply stunning" thing from the original droid. I will give you a benchmark soon... I will say, its running great and I like being able to select what blur I do and don't want using his Chevytools.

Chevytools force closes on me when I try to open the scripts. Nandroid back to apex. My quad scores were around 1700 on chevyno1ssx apex around 1800 not much difference really

1672 quadrant... pretty much standard for my phone across most all ROMs. I'm happy with it.

i have to agree ....no problems so far ....love that i have the option to add/remove stuff ,hopefully soon we will be able to change themes although i do like the blue i just like that option

ApeX Revolution went over the top of it, I didn't wipe and put it over Apex 1.0 no problems at all.

fixed, renamed messaging.apk and mms.apk to .bak

I was coming from FlyX with 928 Black Glass. Downloaded SSx and installed from SD...got stuck at M. Did battery pull and got the same results. Reverted to an old back-up I made when I was still on the stock OTA, tried again and it worked fine.

Start up seems slower, but seems really snappy otherwise. I use LPP instead of the ADW he included. Battery life will be watched today to compare to the old set-up. I'm using JRummy's OC app (not the one Chevy included in SSx) and at 1.25 (LV), it seems stable and netted me mid-1600 Quadrant scores.

The only issue I'm having is the stock "Messaging" app no longer works. I check my Exchange, Yahoo and Bellsouth emails there and it simply doesn't work. Click on an account and it immediately goes back to the home screen. I hope he gets a fix going for that and I'd be even happier than I am now with it.

I have rolled out an OTA patch for this - it is related to the presence of /data/local/bootanimation.zip - the patch will fix the FC

The point is that some people like the bloat/BLUR. My ROM can appeal to both crowds. If you liked BLUR, would you be able to choose a blurless ROM? Nope - however, you have a choice with my ROM. I don't like taking out things unless EVERYONE agrees it is useless.
