Thanks to too many damn threads on the update, I have NO CLUE where to put this (this is ridiculous guys), so I'm just going to cross-post it.

I found this in the Comments section of the Sony Product Blog, someone claiming to know a slightly more detailed time-table; the only problem? No indications on how he knows this information, so it could all be bogus. But I figured I'd post it "just in case":

timetable:
UK – tomorrow noon
Germany – Monday
France and Benelux – Tuesday morning
Spain, Portugal – Tuesday evening
Italy, Greece – Wednesday
Russia – Thursday
Eastern Europe – Friday, except Poland (because of the NK application incompatibility, which is investigated now)
The rollout to other regions should finish before Nov 15

It took them months and months if not the better part of a year just to get the phone to even come to the US. I think it just finally showed up here about 6 weeks ago or something. The update to the USA will probably be sometime next year when the dual core Droid phones come out running 2ghz processors. We'll be so far behind.:(

Not 100% sure if you're being serious or not but Canada's about the last place to get.. anything tech related and SE Canada said the update would be november. Hopefully won't be THAT long^^

actually I am kind of serious. I've been watching this phone for quite a long time on the net. Its been in Europe and other countries for a long time now. AT&T just finally got the phone here where I live and I got an email from Sony when it got released and it was literally like 6-7 weeks ago or thereof. I do truly hope it doesn't take that long for the update to get here but for now I am enjoying the phone as it is... with some rooting anyhow, lol.

if you debrand to norwic firmware whats disadvantages or problems it can cause with being in the uk.

Before flashing to 2.1 I was on Nordic firmware for over 4 months with no problems what so ever, if you didn't know you were on Nordic firmware you wouldn't know.

Everything works the same as on UK with the benefit of getting any firmware updates a little sooner.

Oh, yes the downside, there's a Nordic app that comes with the firmware - just go to applications and remove it...that's it ;)

The only thing I need to make sure is that I can reverse the whole thing once my network release the update, my x10 is branded T-mobile UK 026, So how do I go about backing up the current branded rom so I can use flashtool later to revert back??
Or should I just wait cos its only goin to be a week or tow till I the release it :)
