Root Easiest way to root help

so far ive tried an apk file for rooting, one click root and nothing has worked. any ideas.

all help appreciated. do u need to know which firmware version i have r nything

On what version, if 2.1 which I'm guessing so as I posted the X10root.apk for 1.6 for you, see Rooted 2.1

tried that apk mate. didnt work. if i try and run root explorer ir says i dont have superuser yet and crashes. any ideas

The apk should work on 1.6, it's tried and tested. If 2.1 the only way at the moment is with the SuperOneClick program that runs on the PC.

still on 1.6 btw.
when i run the apk u said about and click root it completes and says to restart system and i do and then i switch back on and if i click on x10 root app it says root and other options are grayed out. ny ideas.

Not a clue, never had any issues with it at all. What firmware do you have?

Should work fine then. Try installing SuperUser first (from Market) and try again. Like I said, it's tried and tested and never had any issues with it myself.

All I can suggest is that you have a read of this thread - Exploid One Click .apk Root - to see if anyone else has had the same issues.

Ok so i clicked root and this happened

then i switched phone off and back on, opened x10 root and this comes up.

its still giving me option to root and everything else grayed out..

(pictures took with the girlfriends x10 mini which i bought her today lol)

Turn off your wireless, and BT just to be safe, and try again.

oh dont worry followed the quick update way on xda forums by changing the numbers in the default file. its downloading now pal. appreciate all ur help. will post when complete

The method above flashes 2.1 straight to the phone.

Nice 1! I think it's worth as I like to mod my phone and remove the Moxier crap along with a few other apps, plus as you've figured some apps require you to have a rooted phone, so it's your choice if you want to or not.
