Root 1.6Ghz! Its real

OK Kids its real. AgentHeX made the original off birdman's kernel. wickedbeav turned around and re-compiled it off jt's mesmerize kernel. The first version was a no go. test2 is a smashing success. There is both a voodoo and non-voodoo kernel complete with bootanimation.zip enabled and BLN. This is what we've all been waiting for methinks. Oddly, setcpu reports the max speed as 1000Mhz but the benchmark numbers dont lie. Im going to update everything as needed but for now enjoy the screenshots.

Does it feel faster than LV1200? Just swiping through homescreens, opening apps and such?

I think so. Side swiping from screen to screen seems faster, apps some yes and some no.
And yes right over my Dirrk kernel

Here's a Q - he says you don't need setCPU, can you just uninstall it and let this take care of itself? Does it still scale up and stuff? What's the min? Still 100?

Buddy, no need to wait. I threw everything I had at this kernel it did not crack. But no you're right nothing wrong with prudence. I am on record vouching for this kernel though

Yeah the steps are the same as stock except 1Ghz is now 1.6Ghz which is a big leap he might either change it or add another step. He says you dont need set cpu but why not have it. its free and it lets you lock in performance mode.

Voltage is 1350mv which is stunningly low. I was always told 1300mv was stock but wickedbeav says 1275mv is stock. Of course he has the mesmerize kernel so maybe Sammy lowered it 25mv Lord knows they could. Anyway, at 1350mv I dont get hot or even warm. And you know me I set cpu to performance and benched the shiznit out of it for 1 hour. No freezing, no warm to the touch. This thing didnt crack, it just didnt.
You still have voodoo, you still have bootanimations.
Nothing to lose and everything to gain

I had massive problems with test version 1 but test 2 is totally perfect for me and it seems most others. I have the voodoo version obviously.
Clearly, YMMV but if it doesnt like it you can easily flash right back. Thats what I did with the first one.

Neither, saps is running something different. It's JT's Voodoo compiled/overclocked by someone known as beaver. wicked...beaver.

Go onto IRC guys. It seems these days the equiette is to not post stuff other than there. Hence most of the recent kernels are not on xda unless posted by the dev himself. So while I could post the link Im going to follow equiette and not.
Equally true, Im on test2 I got this afternoon and beav is already on test5 so the think I have might be dead anyway since he tends to delete the older versions.

Yeah, I said this else where. I dont place a lot of credence on his words at this point. The Manhattan kernel did not scale properly for whatever reason. However, the kernels beav is pumping out do. The math is almost perfectly linear as we'd expect. I refer to my own Quadrant Advanced findings at 200, 400, 800 and then see that 1600 is exactly where it should be.
Irregardless of who is right and wrong this kernel is 100% stable for me and Im only on test2 I dont even know what the differences are with now test5. Test1 if there is even a link was not stable for me

A tad too early to tell however, I think in performance mode its using a bit more juice but not bad. I use about 1% every 3-4 minutes when Im heavy benching locked at 1600Mhz

Yeah the kernel is a trifecta. Its AgentHeX's 1600 from birdman's fascinate kernel ported to jt's mesmerize kernel and wicked beav added the voodoo also from jt.
Its the best of all worlds.
Apparently, test5 display the proper OC and beav kicked the voltage up an increment too. Im DLing it now and will flash, definitely going to keep the test2 on the sdcard though.

Also on an unrelated note. wasupwithuman just posted a zip that keeps your soft keys lit for 15 seconds instead of the default 3

There's 2 is one voodoo thats how I got the 1600Mhz shot above, test2 only says Im at 1000 when Im at 1600. I did just have a lock up in NeoCore on Performance with Test5 so it might be back to test2 for me, we'll see

He did that sucker never sleeps neither do half those guys...well look who's talking
FWIW Im back to test2. NeoCore freezes on me when I do performance mode on test5. Only problem with test2 IMO is setcpu reports the wrong speed. Maybe test6or7 will get it perfect. No complaints here though
