Hello all.

I got the CREDO Mobile HTC Hero (CDMA) about a month ago. I'm a rather disappointed with the sluggishness (especially the phone app) and the battery life, so I'm thinking about rooting it and maybe installing a different ROM. If anyone has specific recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them.

I'm also interested in doing a little bit of basic app/game development, so I'll be looking out for any tips/tutorials/tools people find especially useful for that sort of thing. I'll probably be working in Java/Dalvik unless I come across a very good reason not to.

I just got my HTC Hero from Credo Mobile and rooted it with Cyanogen 6.0.0 and put 2.2 froyo on it. If you have any questions, let me know. Im still within my months grace period, and im not sure if i can stick with them yet, they are awesome, but the phone is fairly bad. Im wondering if I can activate any CDMA phone with the right freq. on credo?

Out of curiosity, now that you're two weeks+ further down the road, have you decided to keep the phone or not or are you still on the fence?

Thanks!
