This gps while new is simply amazing. It beats my 2 year old Garmin nuvi by a long shot. The directions are more accurate, it's fast, and more detailed. Not to mention it has tons of features the Garmin does not.

I tried it out today to go to a mall I have never ever driven too, and I got there with ease!

amazing stuff, I LOVE MY PHONE!!!!:D

I have put in a request to them about 1 month ago b/c several of the listings in and around my neighborhood are not correct.

Thus far, nothing has changed...

Just checked and the problems are still there.

The navigation itself is pretty kewl - gets me where I am going and the satellite layers view is simply awesome....
I agree to some point as well. It is 98% correct for the stores in my town. But there are a few stores that are tagged a couple hundred feet down then where they are supposed to be. However I did see a totally wrong tagging of a golf range that is from a different state and town. I should mention though it is not that far away from where I live so its not that bad as I was aware of where the wrong listed golf range was from...it is probably 10-15 miles away.

Either way, I'm really excited for the improvements to be made in the future!

My biggest gripe is the lack of a good list of recent places that you have navigated to.

If you are already in "Navigate" mode there is a place where you can choose destination and it shows the last 3 or 4 places you have navigated to. I would like to this list be >20.

I would be very happy to hear this is User Error. Please let me know if I am missing something.

Now you need to install "Carrr Matey" so you can find your car again after you have finished shopping. lol. I love that app!!
The Navigator is pretty accurate for me, but gets a bit confused sometimes. We have a lot of new roundabouts and they have not been updated yet, the basic roads/routes are the same but not exact anymore. It's close enough that anyone should be able to figure it out though. The only thing I've found it to be wrong on is the pet shop around here. It gets me to the correct exit on the highway but insists the shop is AT the exit. That too is OK though, you can see the shop from the exit so should/would know how to get there at that point. Other than that it has been spot on for me.

I have had several trips over 300 miles each and haven't found an error yet. I've only had one other GPS and I never got use to it. Found myself not trusting it until the very last second because of lack of details. On my last trip I thought that I had found a problem because the Droid was not listing the Interstate exit number on the screen. It was only listing the street name. When I got within two miles of the exit the top of the screen just filled with even more info matching the colors of the signs as they appear on the interstate. That was awesome!

mdevine--While in Navigate with no route selected, hit options and search or to/from boxes when selecting directions. When I type a letter that I have typed in the past it pulls up the list. My list is well over twenty items.

You can also create a folder for all of your maps if you go to certain places all the time and it's only a few clicks to get it started.

I have been a Garmin GPS owner/user for over 10 years (I'm on my 4th unit). When I got the DROID, I assumed that the navigator was going to be a neat little app ... but it surely couldn't replace my Garmin. But the more I use it, the more I realise I was WRONG. Though it has a learning curve, I'm finding it to be a really good navigator and NOT just some "neat little app". Man, I love this "phone". Hehe

How?? I can't find a way to save them.......

Find an empty spot on a screen and select shortcut. Should see an option for directions. Then I have been placing mine into a folder.

sillyrabbitt123 Excuse my ignorance but why would you need a map of a place you go to all the time?

Perhaps I could have chosen better words to use. But I also got to agree with Richdog. My job has required me to go to the same crap hole town several times in the last three months. It's about 360 miles away. I could easily get there without the GPS, but would prefer not to take the chance.

Thanks for the tip on the carrr matey app, perfect for finding the car when you've parked in the farthest last parking space in the mall lot and your brain is so scrambled by Christmas shopping you can barely remember what your car looks like....never mind where you parked it!

Getting the car dock for Christmas but it will be replacing my old Garmin. I thing Garmin will be forced to drop pay-per-updates due to this. They currently sit at almost 70 big ones which is almost the price of a new unit....they may still cost but the price is sure to drop VERY soon I think.

I'm going to get a car dock for Christmas too and it's going to replace my TomTom 920. The TomTom is great but Google Nav has traffic which is a must in Long Island.

I noticed that the voice for the navigation didn't seem to be really very clear and definitely not smooth. How do you guys feel about the voice?

The voice for the DROID is somewhat distorted, but I don't have an issue with the "smoothness" of it. For the most part, I run with it MUTED anyway. I did change the voice to the "British English" which did seem to help.

Werd! Garmin can kiss me & my DROID's butt. I am sick & tired of paying for map updates EVERY year or so...
