Couple things of note.
  1. 1)No HTC branding on the new phone
  2. 2)you'll notice the home and back buttons have been switched

This phone could be my saving grace. I've mentioned on the forums before that I'm stuck with AT&T for better or worse, so I haven't exactly had Android as an option. My wife and I were going to pick up iPhones this weekend as christmas presents for each other. I was always planning on getting one for her originally, but I was hoping that an Android phone would come out for AT&T.

Well...now I think I'll still pick up the iPhone but just return it within the 30 days to get this bad boy, as long as it's not too outrageously priced, assuming that there's no subsidy.

On that note...I'm really curious how the pricing will work. I really wish we were set up more like Europe where prices weren't permanently in the subsidy, but we could still make monthly payments on the phone. I'm sure we'll have plenty of speculation over the next month. If they're giving them out to most, if not all employees, then we can't be that far off from getting concrete information.

I was under the impression that the Google phone is not being released under any carrier, but instead being managed 100% by Google. Where did you gleam that the phone is coming out on AT&T?

No HTC on the Phone named by Google but can this mean that in fact the same phone in reality is named the Passion when branded with HTC?

Good one Google!!

More photos and information cutesy of Engadget. AT&T is still not feeling the Android love, at least not for this version of the device (if there are indeed going to be multiple).

Exclusive: first Google Phone / Nexus One photos, Android 2.1 on-board -- Engadget

Obviously Engadget has gotten a little carried away with their title (i would have stuck "official" in there) but you get the gist :).

Just wanted to say Thank you for the link to the new pics...they actually took the place of my morning Coffee :D and worked just as well.
