well it updated. took about 5 minutes. hehehe cute little image of an android getting out of a package.

Anyhow, I don't notice anything. from what I have read it is supposed to be noticeably different but I see nothing.

I received this update and the default movie player no longer plays my mp4 movies for some reason. I think there were some hidden changes in this update.

Sounds like it was a Verizon update. If it says android 2.2 then it was just a carier update.

It's probably just a carrier company update and not the actual Android OS update.

It is not gingerbread it is a few fixes to get ready for gingerbread Yup, that update looks to be just a bug fix, not Gingerbread.
Also, thanks to Varunkumar Nagarajan for confirming in the comments that it’s just Android 2.2.1 FRG83D, and not an update preparing the device for Gingerbread

My EVO updated and now my battery won't make it half way through the day. With my usage I made it all day, no problem. I don't want block buster and this nova game turning on all the time, how do you get rid of an update?

I haven't used WiFi on my home network since the Froyo screwed it up. The fist thing I noticed after this latest update was WiFi now works! Hallelujah!!

I was platying around with my wife's old HTC Hero this morning when all of a sudden it wanted to update the software. I decided to what it was all about so I let it do it's thing. After it completed I decided to check the software version, it reads 2.32.***. Is Sprint serious? Gingerbread on this old dinosaur? It has a slower processor than our new LG Optimuses, which supposedly is an entry level phone. You've got to be kidding me........

I am having the same problem on my evo. Its very frustrating. I have tried a half dozen players From the market and none if them play the mp4s any more. Any one have any idea how to fix this our go around it?
