Engadget/Nexus One Clearer Pics and pics taken with phone

That isn't even a real image, it's a photoshop.

The google phone is what we've all believed was the passion for weeks.

Either way, my point is, either this forum needs to change names or they need to create a new "Google Nexus One" forum, because there are two different followers in this forum now -those who want the google phone and those who are waiting for a Verizon-version of Passion.

I guess we need to rename this forum "Google Nexus One" as it's clear that's what Passion has become.

Attention Verizon users! Move along please, Passion has left the building.

From the same guy who has given us such nuggets of knowledge like "If the phone they're passing out at Google uses a sim card, then that device is not compatible with Verizon network. End of story" (despite several devices on Verizon having SIM cards) and "I'm not sure what this so-called "alliance" between Google and Verizon consists of, aside from collaborating together to get droid/eris out on the market." (despite the agreement being multi-year, several times mentioning several devices, etc).
Groundbreaking Agreement Between Verizon Wireless and Google to Leverage
What was the original pic of this phone called? Dragon. At best the dragon became the Nexus One. Nothing has contradicted the HTC Barvo (which looks totally different) from becoming the Passion and PassionC. This explains why there were 4 names in the 2.1 ROM. Though nothing prevents Nexus One from being used on Verizon once it becomes a consumer device.

About Phydeaux
Yeah,
This is the second time today I have busted this guy, or he is just un-informed and speculating with lack of knowledge. I could understand if the Passion (name only) has become the Nexus. Anything beyond that is wild speculation. Especially what this guy has been saying lately. With the four Droid-esque touch keys on the bottom, this still has VZW written all over it!!

I understand how my opinion that Passion is not coming to Verizon would be unpopular in this forum.

I'm a long-time Verizon user and would like nothing more than to see one of these phones come to Big Red, but so far the best evidence of this is an ambiguous "PassionC" on a list and some similar looking buttons.
On the other hand, we've seen several references to htc and google creating a GSM passion/nexus and have even heard implications that it may go to T-mobile.

Dmac333 since I'm so un-informed, please enlighten me by posting any semi-reliable information you have that relates to google or htc releasing a 1GHz android phone for Verizon. I'd love to hear it.

We've heard suggestions of this phone going to T-Mobile, but who is even saying this? It's not Google and it's not T-Mobile, at least know to my knowledge, but if you have a link with solid information that is NOT speculation please let me know..I could be wrong. It doesn't seem like it would make any sense to give such a great "game changing" phone to T-Mobile.. how many users do they have?

Whether it was "game-changing" or not the G1 (from T-Mobile) started all of this Android business. Verizon may have a killer network but it seems their execs are more concerned with $$$ than having the newest devices; look how long VZW customers had to wait for the BB Pearl and Curve. One device (Droid) shouldn't make everyone believe that mentality is gonna change overnight. Actually I wouldn't even count the Droid as anything new either; Android is a year old. Once again VZW late to the game. When dealing with this type of speculation I look to the bloggers, sites, etc. that are most well known and respected and seem to get devices first. PhoneDog was the first place I saw an actual pic of the Dragon/Passion/Nexus One/Bravo. He said he didn't know which carrier it was going to but he definitely said it was GSM. Then when the VZW Passion rumors popped up VZW fans said he didn't know what he was talking about. Now it looks like PhoneDog was probably right all along.

Never mind users their network is small and sucks.
Actually, that depends on where you live. There are places you could go that VZW sucks and T-Mobile is good. And if you're a world traveler VZW shouldn't even be considered an option. I don't hate VZW I just think that it's kind of silly to think that they are gonna get all of the best devices all of a sudden when that has NEVER been the case. They always had that network and those gazillion customers, so what was the reason for them not getting the best devices before?

Since you are so bad at partially quoting me, let me fully quote you.

"Attention Verizon users! Move along please, Passion has left the building."

You have absolutley no grounds for saying this besides it not being specifically mentioned in rescent info. My full quote was, "because of the four Droid-Esque" touch buttions this one still seems VZW bound. That actually is a legitimate point, along with almost every ninja that has commented on this phone says VZW, only resent has T-Mobile been talked about. It is true we have nothing solid about VZW. But then again we have nothing solid that it is coming to ANY US carrier. So again, you have no grounds to make such a declaration. Just like your comment about the VZW/Google alliance.
But at least you are consistant that you make comments that you dont qualify or even say "I think" or "I believe." That has been my rub with your last few posts.

If it will make you feel better...

I think
I believe
I think
I believe
I think
I believe

Please feel free to copy/paste as many of these to my previous posts at your discretion.

My sincere apologies to anyone on this forum who mistook me for some sort of authority or insider on the subject. From this point on I shall do my best to preface all of my posts with either "I think" or "I believe" to avoid any further confusion. ;)

By the way, the point I apparently failed to make in my first post is that I believe that it might be appropriate to rename this forum Nexus One as that is what the Passion has turned out to be. Or, this forum could stay the same and a new "Nexus One" forum could be created... but only if it's ok with Dmac333. (god forbid I offend him again)

Ok all the bickering aside. They keep updating the pics on the first link in this thread. The phone looks pretty big in the had. Anyone?
I would say it's a pinch thinner than the iPhone with a 3.5-3.7 inch screen. Also, everyone bickering about VZW this and T-Mobile that, have you even considered that maybe VZW execs saw this phone and didn't want it? If it's THE Google phone like everyone says its sure to have more Google-branding than any previous Android device, on the device and in the software. I don't think VZW would like that too much, IMO. That's the beauty (some say the problem) of Android; companies can get Moto, HTC, Samsung, or whoever to make them an Android device exactly how they want it.

Possible. Verizon is very prickly about slathering their brand on all their phones.

Either way, if what you say is true, the result is Verizon users are still left out in the cold.

I think.

Everything is conjecture at this point. I'm putting my faith in the fact that back in Novemeber a connection commented on the Passion coming to Verizon before any of this was out there. Outside of this, there's no tangible evidence to prove this fact, but likewise there's nothing to the contrary either. The existence of a GSM phone does not preclude that of a CDMA counterpart.

Another connection commented that the Google Phone would come to T-Mobile.

Except if the Bravo is the Passion, then the Google phone cannot be the Passion. People (including your link) forget the Unlockr pictures were NOT titled Passion. They were title Dragon. Tmonews now wants to say the Passion was the Dragon which isnt the case.
Not to mention I think all "connections" of some phone to Tmobile stem from this one article.

Posted Last night by the wife of the Gentlemen who started PPCGEEKS.COM..I know, funny but, and stated that her husband actually took the very first pics of the Nexus/HTC branded Passion phone on Unlockr that the Phone in the hands of the Google employees is not for sale but made only for google employees,it is unique and is different from all other Nexus phones being released.

Please note that in all the pics, the Nexus thats in the hands of Google is not HTC branded on top therefore being one offs to the employees and what we will get through VZW I think will be HTC branded as the First Unlockr pics show HTC on the phone.

Also that Verizon is getting the first Nexus/Passion/Dragon and that the story is very mixed and confused by changing hands so much.

Just sharing what I am finding out
