Root Root/updated.zip problem - Froyo

I hope you can help me...

i recently (couple of days ago) updated my galaxy s firmware to froyo using kies, i then tried to apply the one click lag fix using the free app in the market.

when i went into the recovery console and tried to apply the 'update.zip' it said verification failure or something like that, so i tried all sorts...

removing the .zip
uninstalling app, reinstalling
superoneclick.exe (installs superuser but still doesn't work)
etc etc

the initial problem was the verification error but now it appears that after i have deleted the 'update.zip' file from my phone it STILL gives me the option to apply it in the recovery console and then errors saying it cannot find it (it appears that no matter what file i place in my phones root it will always refer to this update.zip file i have removed)

So how do i remove it permanently and what can i then use to root my galaxy...i would really appriecate an answer on this i have been sat for 5 hours trying to sort it :(

Current Verion: PDA:JPO / PHONE:JPP /CSC:JPO

Many Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem.....I updated to froyo 2.2 then had to do a factory reset to get my Galaxy s to start.
I had un-rooted prior to this and uninstalled oneclicklagfix.
When I tried to run the one click root app I got the E: Verification Failed meesage in the recovery console, so no root :-(...Please Please Please can someone help???

Thankyou
