There is also Transform (Sprint), Mesmerize (US Cellular) and Continuum (Verizon).

Then more regional variants, i9000T (Telstra, Telus, Latin America, yes, 850 3G band), i9000M (Bell Vibrant), i9000C (Chile), i9000B (Brazil).

i9008 and i9088 are phones destined to China. I think there is also an i898 too. There are three specific Galaxy S for China Mobile with TD-SCDMA, China Telecom and China Unicom.

SC-02B is NTT Docomo's Galaxy S with 800Mhz band.

The name Galaxy S, the S stands for SK Telecom. The model number is M100S. This is the domestic Korean version for SK Telecom and was actually the first Galaxy S revealed in public.

The Galaxy for KT or Korea Telecom is what else, Galaxy K, and for LG Telecom, Galaxy L.

Still confused?

In the US market the Captivate and Vibrant share the exact same specs, but different body styles. The Fascinate and the Vibrant share body styles, but differ on the internal storage. The Epic and the Fascinate share specs, but differ greatly in body style.

Overall, for the US market I like the Fascinate, because I have one an prefer Verizon to all the other carriers. If carrier didn't matter then I would have to say the Vibrant though, simply for the body style and the additional 16 GB of internal storage that it comes with.

I have never seen any of the US or NAM Galaxy S first hand. You know, all the ones that are locked, got four buttons, don't have front cameras, don't have the front button wake up, and can't work with Kies.

But where I live and countries I go to, its the same international model and its variants that I see. In this island in particular, we got the i9000T. It only has 8gb of NAND memory, but the 3G frequency is 850 like AT&T, with 1900 and 2100. No carrier software but a lot of Samsung's own apps like their own task manager which I didn't see on other i9000s before. There is also a streaming app called M station or something like that. Has all the i9000 characteristics, like 3 buttons with the center button which can be used to wake the phone, and a small front camera with built in video calling. Its also unlocked from the factory.
