HAhhahah

This is very misleading, I am always happy to see Android getting the praise it deserves, but android has so many phones out while iPhone only has 1 at any given time.

While it is true that Apple only has two current models (3GS and i4) it is by Apple's choice to do this, so any market share lost by not having a wider variety is clearly their own choosing. It would be a different argument if Apple offered iOS to different manufacturers and they chose not to use it or carriers chose not to sell those phones, but that's not the case.

Android cannot be held responsible for Apple's arbitrary limitations.

Apple still has more market share as they were first, but they are losing ground fast.

Umm ... no. According to Canalsys* 3rd quarter 2010 report Android has 25% of the global smartphone market while Apple only grew to 17%. In the U.S. Apple has 26% of the smartphone market, but Android topped out at almost 44%. Of course, Symbian is still the global leader but where Android and Apple has shown growth RIM and Symbian numbers have been slipping.

I've seen this, & I really think they're just going to be offering accessories to those who use unlocked iPhones on T-Mo. Then again...T-Mo's recent ad campaign paints the iPhone as a very desireable way but that it's hindered by the network it's tied to. The T-Mo ads show the iPhone as an attractive young man & the AT&T network as old & overbearing. Why promote a phone that's not offered on their network?

Ya I know this, just saying it is a misleading stat. Certainly Apples fault for trying to be exclusive.

I'm not sure what is misleading. All it states is that Android is outselling iOS phones, which is true. There were no claims of proof that one is better than the other.

Anyway you know what Mark Twain said ...

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

How is it misleading? Android is outselling iOS, and that's a fact. It's outselling iOS BECAUSE there are so many more phones on so many carriers that have Android compared to iOS, but the bottom line is still that Android is outselling iOS.

I think it is in the wording. You worded it correctly, but many people will say that "Android is outselling the iPhone." Which when you really think about it is an unfair comparison. What people really mean is that one OS is outselling another OS and not that an entire mobile OS is beating one or two phones in sales. One sounds cool and impressive, the other sounds like a pathetic comparison.

Basically what OftheDamned said. It is a fact (maybe? that guy just kinda tossed it out there...) which is fine, but its not a level playing field, therefor making the stat misleading. Really it is kinda shocking that iPhone sales are only beat 2 to 1 with so many android phones out there. (Again if the stat is even right..)

Anyways it was more a remark to the two posts above my original one. "LINK to why android is better" then "Hell ya android rocks we sell more phones then iphone"

As much as I love microsoft, i think they should just quit the mobile business and stick with computers. This is just my opinion though, I have not gotten my hands on a WP7 phone, or any win phone mainly because they are pretty expensive.

you are the store owner...
you have a choice..

spend budget on...
accessories for...

iphone.. with millions of clients.. that love to show off their phones and accessories.
or
Nexus 1....

hhhmmm tough choice.. dont you think?
i am just sayin... :D

Tmo actually used to sell a screen protector for the N1.
