Help Latest RUU - Is it worth updating?

I have the following build:

RUU: 2.10.405.2
Radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2

But I understand the following is available:

RUU: 2.29.405.2 WWE (FRF91)
Radio: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27

Is it worth updating or will this just get superceded by Gingerbread in a few weeks (fingers crossed...) time? I suspect it will, but I thought I'd check. I haven't rooted but have debranded using Teppic's guide - if I wanted to get this new RUU anyway, would I have to root or could I follow a similar Teppic's-guide-style route?

I don't know if it adds anything other than an updated radio...reports seem to indicate it's basically the same as 2.10 so I'm not too concerned with it. As for Gingerbread, don't get your hopes up too soon. It took about 3 months for HTC to prepare and release Froyo once Google put it out, so I suspect Gingerbread won't be here till the new year.

No you don't need to root, just use a goldcard and run the RUU in the same manner to update.
