Just ordered one for my wife

I just signed my wife and I up for the new $139.99 family share plan. It doesn't save us money on our current setup, but it does get her a smartphone with all the bells and whistles. Our bill went up 0.01 so I can't complain. She currently uses an EnV Touch with data blocked.
She will get a keyboard, Android, touch screen, no worries about killing the slide mechanism, free Google Navigation. I don't have any plans on rooting her phone, but am glad to see her get a more advanced device.
I will install Launcher Pro for her however, I just hate Motorola's home screen. It just feels laggy. Once I put Laucher Pro on my mother-in-laws Droid 2 it was much more responsive felt better to use.
So anyway, she looks forward to getting it and finally having a smartphone.

Scratch that, she changed her mind to the Droid 2....good thing we got it in time. I guess she wants the larger keyboard? If changes her mind she has 30 days to figure it out.

I just did mine over the phone.
They said shipping would be tomorrow the 10th. And it'd be 2 days shipping.
I haven't gotten my email confirmation yet. I may need to call back and ask for my order number so i can track. I didnt have a pen at the time.

i ordered this morning around 9ish.

first said pending.
now status says "wait"

I ordered online and got free overnight.

so i assume "wait" means they are waiting to ship it for whatever reason (waiting on stock or they decided to hold out till X date or something).

if it's like their other 'world phones' it will come sim locked to the preinstalled Vodafone sim in it. But if your account is in good standing you just call and tell them you are traveling and prefer to use prepaid sims and they will give you the codes to unlock it to use any sim you like.

Or I could just hope for a GSM only version (Milestone Pro perhaps) at some point in the next few months.

I had to call and get tracking info. I never got any email confirmations.

I called to check on mine- apparently it depends on what warehouse serves your account.

There's no in stock for the place that handles me. (NJ, order placed online, business account- not sure which of those matter)

"wait" in the status on the online status checker means waiting for stock.

Still never got an email, but it went from just saying shipped to now giving a Fedex number with expected delivery on Friday.

ahhh-

mine doesn't show up there- I assume because I logged into my account to place the order so i could upgrade my current line. I'm getting the feeling that they get confused because mine is through the 'normal' channels and not the "iconic" website so it's stuck on "wait" until they release it to the general public.

such is life.

If I get stuck waiting till next week I can suck it up- worse things have happened - and I got a good deal due to my accounts discounts.
