Looking for an FM radio streaming app...

Hi,

I've been reading around quite a bit and got my Droid today. I am looking for an app that streams FM stations online. I used something like Wunder radio on the WinMo platform. I am not interested in Pandora or Slacker as I want to stream real talk/music stations around the US. Anyone have luck finding one that works good?

Thanks,

Great forum and phone.

I would also like to know.
Is I Heart available?

It's a no go on iheartradio. The app is only available for iPhone and Blackberry and web streaming requires Flash. Perhaps they will release an app for Android. Or until Flash is supported in 2010. One has to happen, right? Lol.

A search for "FM radio" in the marketplace results in disappointing results. There are some apps for specific stations, and one that has 13 stations, though they don't look very promising.

I've downloaded the Slacker Radio free app. Been listening to the Foo Fighters channel for the last two hours. It plays music from the same genre, not just Foo Fighters. No audio advertisements and every song has been good. No buffering with the exception of the first time you hit play. Jumps right into the next song if yo u want to skip a song. I haven't tried any others and probably will not. I have no complaints.

lol, FM radio Junky, not internet. Anyways, I find the Slacker app to be disappointing. The audio quality is not up to par with Pandora, Last.Fm, I could go on and on...

i am using 'stream live radio' to listen to my station. it streams in acc+ so mp3 streams work too. it is a shoutcast client. demo(free) run for 5 min then you have to reconnect. app has tiny writing but usable once you get your station into your fav list. searches the shoutcast database to find stations but you can input stream urls directly.

I started using Streamfurious, but became frustrated with the amount of time it takes to begin playing a stream, even over wi-fi.

After reading this thread I got A Online Radio and love it. It starts quickly and disconnects less frequently than Streamfurious so far. I was also able to add channels, so I have a clean Favorites list.

I recommend the stream at opbmusic.org
