hi i am living in Lithuania and i have Samsung Galaxy S I-9000 factory unlocked
two days ago i did update with Kies (everything was stock i never did any rootings and lagfixes or other things) but i noticed that my phone after update is working much slower than 2.1 was. it is lagging and web browser websites is not so smooth. so can you tell me is there any way to fix it or not at the moment? i read somewhere that i can root it with Super One-Click but will it help me? or do you know some lagfix app for 2.2 official? i found this [APP] One Click Lag Fix APK - 2.0 - Page 110 - xda-developers
but it is 110 pages and it is too hard for me because i am not very good with these things. please help me...

so first thing i will download z4root and root my phone after that i will go to market and download OCFL and do one click lagfix? is this corrrect? :) and it will not be a problem to do other official updates in the future?

Correct.... and no, it won't be a problem with any future updates.
Just make sure though before you do your next ROM update you run OCLF again and remove any lagfix, which is standard practice anyway if you have a lagfix running.

Rooting won't effect your warranty because you are not effecting the core filesystem.... and RyanZA is currently working on a new version of z4root that will allow you to un-root if you want.

Thanks for your info. Is the un-root version already out?

as I read this on the first page of forum: [APP] z4root - xda-developers

"V1.2.0 : Unroot support, fix for devices with small max file size such as I5700, binaries in xbin rather than bin"

Im not techny minded so want to know if I can 'uninstall' the root and 'lagfix' easily if I use these two apps?
;)

Yes.... 'Un-Rooting' is now supported.
We were waiting for version 1.2.0 which as you have seen is now out to 'un-root'.

I'm getting a Quadrant score of 1974 which onthe face of it seems excellent. However, I still appear to be getting some lag. Certain apps can take 10 secs to open and even the phone contacts took about 5 seconds after achieving the above score.

What exactly is Quadrant measuring and how is this applied to our phones? It would seem to me (totally non-expert I add) that the scores may be representative of a good graphics processing speed but yet the file allocation system may well be particularly slow, hence the lag. Am I completely barking up the wrong tree? (Waiting to see how long it takes before last sentence is quoted ;))

Yes, same is for me i did z4root and oclf and my Quadrant score of 1950 but phone is still getting some lag. Today i install new Sygic Aura navigation it is very nice navigation but not on my phone i am tired really from this problematic phone i try so many other navigations but all of them is not working well maybe it is because SGS still needs GPS fix?

Have a look at running Tracker Booster. Reported it gets the best possible GPS signal by keeping the GPS unit active in the background. Some phones have problems while not getting accurate GPS location info.
