Update to 2.3 for Droid 2 R2D2?

My buddy and i both bought the Droid 2 this past month. I bought the R2D2 edition, he bought the regular edition. He received the update to Gingerbread 2.3 this past Monday (Nov. 8th). I keep checking and my R2D2 edition says my phone is up to date with 2.2 - Did anyone get the update to 2.3 on their R2D2 edition? Or are they not going to release the update to the R2D2s? What gives!!

That update isn't for the R2DROID2. Also (facepalm) why is this in the Motorola DROID section?

The update was not to gingerbread android 2.3. It was to the system. It is still android 2.2. Just some bug fixes. You aren't missing much.

My R2D2 is on system 2.45something yet my Android Version is still 2.2.

The Update was from Verizon not Google/Android.

Motorola Droid 2 Update Now Going Out for All | Android Phone Fans

It just fixed bugs in the phone like the GPS and it moved the Unlock bar up.. It also did some other stuff but I can not remember them or the article that listed them.

It had nothing to do with the Android Version.
