My Evo wont play any videos, i've tried through crackle, tru tv app, sprint tv, you tube, on and on and on. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, and updating profiles and software. I am real close to throwing a $200 phone against the wall!!!! (breathe) Has anyone else had this problem? And do you know of any fixes for it?

On Sprint TV, i get an error message saying This channell is not currently available. On other sites/apps, I get an error saying only that this video can not be played.

Please, anyone with any suggestions, help!

I've tried updating both, and they both say no updates are available. my connection seems to be okay 3-4 bars, and wi-fi both available.

hrmmm..even does it on wifi?

have you tried battery pull? hard reset?

also remember your connection to the tower may great...that meter only shows signal strength from the tower not necessarily network quality

gotcha gotcha..you are asking him if it works on wifi

yeah that would be a good test to see if it is network related. some users have had issues over the past week watching movies over 3g and 4g ...but watching over wifi works fine which means your issue would either be poor signal or a network issue on sprint's end

first of all i would like to know what website your friend is going to, to stream movies, since the day i got it i couldnt stream nothing except youtube, & mind u before it even plays all the way i have for try like 3 or 4 times, it usually plays the first minute or so and then tells me that "sorry this video can not be play" how the hell can this video not be play if the first minute just played... it really pisses me off, one of the major reasons i bought this phone was kuz video and movie streaming.... $550 "booting machine" and u cant even watch youtube video without it being choppy or stopping, fyi 3g has about 3 to 4 bars, no 4g until dec, wifi 15mb down 4.5mb up, so i have no network issues.. and another thing i said, the hell with streaming so i decided to download the movie and i cant even play that either its like this phone is not delivering what they set out to give in the first place, whats the point of having a kick stand if u cant even watch a movie... so what am i left to do? have my evo rooted, wifi tether and carry my iphone anytime i want to watch a movie or youtube and this reallllly pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try from within youtube press menu, settings, and make sure high quality is not ...only use that when on wifi or good 4g.

youtube also had an update within the last week or so. go to the market and make sure you are using the correct one.

anytime you are streaming you are relying on sprints network or wifi...if you have a bad signal or connection it isn't going to work well

bars only determine signal strength from the towers...not network quality

I also have these problems. Pandora gives me "can't retrieve music" and YouTube gives me "there was a problem while playing." Apps for things like podcast give me "there was a problem with streaming." I can't watch any videos online. I can access webpages and email. I'm on my evo right now, posting this reply.

This started today. For the past 6 months all was well. I cleared my cache and data for the apps, I removed the battery. No change.

I have the same problem, but I can play videos fine on wifi. I also checked my friends Samsung Epic, also on Sprint, and he could not play youtube videos on the network either, but wifi is fine. So, it looks like it is a Sprint thing, even when I appear to have full bars, 4 g and the internet works fine. Maybe they are blocking it somehow?

I originally posted the problem and fix on SprintUsers.
3.70 update killed your streaming music? Here's the fix. - SprintUsers.com

This fix removes the problematic proxy server settings introduced with 3.70. Sprint is deploying the proxy server across many phones so you now see the issue cropping up on them. It may be a problem with the proxy server itself, but more likely has to do with the apps creating a local proxy server on the device itself. Two proxies is at least one too many.
