Root how to root and upgrade X10i?

i have HTC desire that i successfully rooted an upgraded to android 2.2 (froyo).

my CEO have SE Xperia X10i and he want me to upgrade his phone as well.
since the Xperia is not my own and i don't want to go trough the same long process of understanding every small detail of it by reading dozens of articles and guides i would like you to help and guide me with this process.

1. does Xperia X10i can be install with 2.2, if not the 2.1?
2. where can i get a good guide for rooting and upgrading the phone to the new android (2.1/2.2)
3. where can i download the android 2.2/2.1 files for X10i? does these are oficially from SE or general?
4. is there a recovery consol in Xperia like in HTC? how do i get there?
5. in Xperia i also need to upgrade the Radio version?
