My last 2 cars were Saabs. Used to drive 90 mph+ on the highway on a daily basis. Then bought a Prius a few months ago. Now I'm lucky if I break 62 mph. The new game is how many miles I can squeeze out of a gallon of gas (averaging about 50mpg).

My dream car is an plug-in hybrid or a 100% electric car. A Tesla would be nice but the list is too long and I don't have $100,000 under the matress:)

Try scrapping together around $10-15K and do the battery enhancement to your Prius and you can expect approx 120 mpg or better ...

I sold my car and use Metro and ZipCar/FlexCar or carpool ... Live In Wash DC so using the Metro is easy for me to commute to work and go most places in the Metropolitan area ...

I call it how I see it, I'm not insulting you personally, get used to it. If you have a car like that, you WILL hear shit all the time. Hell, I get shit from American muscle guys for my Z because it's Asian, but it's fast enough that people respect it. I just can't understand the reasoning behind taking a cheap car that's not a good starting platform and modding the hell out of it, you probably have quintuple the car's bluebook value in mods.

Nice ride Secret. Don't be an ass, Black.

HE HAS AN ADJUSTABLE WING ON AN ALTIMA, THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT A NICE RIDE. I'm sorry, it's true. I'm not like most car guys who'll talk shit about a Honda or a riced out piece of junk, but then say "yeah it's pretty cool" to the owner. I'm going to say the same shit to him that I'd say to anyone else, RIIIIIICE.

Haha oh, I just realized, he has canards on it too... Look at the sides of the front bumper, it has fins. Hahaha, waste of money.

You must have missed the part where I said don't be an ass. His car is fine and modded to his taste. If you don't want to say "nice ride", then fine. Not everyones going to like the car, plenty here don't find it nice. You can do like them and.. oh I don't know.. not comment.

Believe it or not there are some people who consider the term "rice", especially when said right to an asian members face - walking the line of racism. You should read the rules thread about general conduct.

Believe it or not there are some people who consider the term "rice", especially when said right to an asian members face - walking the line of racism. You should read the rules thread about general conduct.

Believe it or not, the people who consider that term to be racist don't have a clue what it means. Here's definition #1 from urbandictionary.com:

"1. ricer 3841 up, 350 down
(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles.
Honda Civics with big spoilers and 4" exhaust tips are considered to be ricers."

The bolded part may be important to read, too bad you didn't look at that before you banned me for saying something you didn't understand.

Black,
First let me say, I don't care what urban dictionary says.

Secondly: I didn't ban you for saying ricer. That was just a little 'while were here' tidbit. I banned you for continuing to be an ass right after being asked to stop.

Now you are back from your ban.. that I dropped from 7 days to 3, and you continue to be an ass.

I suggest you curb your attitude if you want to be a part of this community. No one is here to put up people who sign up to join the community only to start their stay off by knocking on people around them, disregarding an admin's request to stop, and coming back from bans and making posts like this last one.

This is your last warning.

If you really feel the urge to say something in response to this, take it to PM. This thread isn't the place for discussions like this.

Black,

Why would you come back from a ban with a vengeance? The point Phases was trying to get across is that its okay to disagree with someone, but repeatedly being an ass after you've made your point- just for the point of being an ass - doesn't exactly foster a friendly environment.

You're continuing where you left off. Live and learn man... or you're going to get you banned... I don't WANT you to get banned but Phases is basically the head honcho around here and what he says... goes.

Cmon holmes.. just chill out..

Well, since I was the one to get this thread off track, let's put it back where it's supposed to be. The only pictures I have of the entire car are when it was NA, but took a picture of the engine bay after swapping the motor of course. Front bumper's changed from stock NA to stock TT bumper to allow for airflow through the SMIC's.

Interior, minty leather/suede, climate control, Bose system, 6cd changer, 6 way power seats, all 100% stock:

Engine bay, right after swap, dirty, before I put the timing covers/throttle cable cover on it:

Bumper not installed, and car without bumper:

Last but not least, rear shot:

I know, too many pictures and nobody really cares, but oh well. The quality sucks because I've never bought a digital camera, every picture is either with a borrowed digicam or my phone.

[You can very clearly it's been addressed and resolved. He even put up this last (darn good) post to help get the thread back on track. Which he certainly didn't have to do. Why in the world would try to stir it back up? Drop it.]

I just can't wait to see pictures of his car, he didn't post any, just pictures of someone else's... But on AIM he was doing plenty of trash talking, mainly just called me a noob and a ricer but never told me what engine he has in his 240. When it came down to me saying I knew more about cars and actually wanting to know something about his, he blocked me. :(

Oh, and a final thing about my pictures, he brought up that my car "looked like a Jeep" referring to the suspension being high. If any of you have ever done motor swaps, I don't know if he has or not, you ever leave the car without an engine for a few months? This wasn't an overnight deal, I had/have a lot going on in my life and it was sitting in my garage with no engine while I prepped, saved up some money, and dealt with other things. When the car sits without an engine for a long time, it raises up, there's no weight compressing the springs. When you put the engine back in it, because the shocks have been sitting high for a long time, it doesn't sink right back down in 30 seconds. That picture was taken right after the swap, that's why the wheel clearance is redonkulus. This is all referring to the picture with no bumper, of course, I don't think the clearance looks as bad when the car's sitting naturally on its suspension in the earlier pics.

Oh well, he's a JDM tyte drifter, he knows better than I do.

Black, while i dont like Japanese cars, my friend has a 1993 TT 300ZX (not stock). He's putting down around 480whp, or in that neighborhood.

Just wanted to say sick ride lol. And SecretAsianMan, your car really is rice, and there's no point to the splitters or the adjustable spoiler, but I'm not saying it in a bad, malicious, hateful, spiteful, or any other negative (or positive) way. Just saying that your car is rice, while Black's car is just Japanese. Again, do not take offense to this. But if you do, I don't care.

naw it is somewhat rice, i guess, but its very eye catching. i did put a crap load of money into it. i was looking for a fusion look of kinda racey and somewhat luxurious look. i like the jdm look, but its too common. i like the nice paint and big rims look, but it looks a lil too stock. i like body kits, modded body work, and dropped to the ground look so i put all aspects of modding cars into one. i mean the car isnt slow, but it isnt really fast either. i wanted a different look. and my definition of ricers are when theyre broken non fitting body kits are falling off or being melted by their poorly placed exhaust, horrible paint job (probably canned) extra tall aluminum wings, blue headlight bulbs, neons, stickers all over and cheap rims and tires. i mean i got all moldings and antenna filled and shaved, i made the custom taillights out of those cheese ass altezzas, custom violet pearl paint and clear over the carbon fiber. teh wing was strictly for looks. i always liked the style of a flat wing like a lot of mustangs have. it was actually off a 97 accord and it was really a bitch to install. the shocks on the wing is from the lift up shades on a very old motorhome. so yea i did put a shit load of work into it myself and negative feed back isnt very appreciated but expected. nice 300zx by the way. ive always liked those. my lil bro just got a fully modded nismo 350z (not factory modded nismo edition). sitting on staggered 18" 19" nismo wheels. sick ride.
