----Start KangeradeX info (themes in this thread):
rc1 was released today, no idea if this works on that.
2.1 released as well; have not tried on it.

im using this on 2.0.1
mix between;

Joe772's "x" dark theme
D2 Kangerade in blue theme

Thanks to Tom for turning me on to 7zip when messing with themes and mruno for naming it. lol....

So far I like it, seems to have resolved some things I didnt like about the X theme like the check marks not being real visible in options and it also gave me the status bar back I like.
Im a rookie. Use at your own risk.

Very nice. I didn't know the D2 themes worked on the X. Thanks for posting that.

Haven't installed it yet, but would like to see this with the circle-battery icons. The theme I'm using now also adds the white signal strength icons in an otherwise blue icon set. Guess I'm going to have to get some experience modding themes. I understand the principle, just haven't take the time to play with it yet.

kinda long.
thanks....remember that just flat installing the d2 themes to a dx causes boot loops (from what i hear) you have to transfer to a dx theme (port?).

yeah, it seems like so far if i keep using the x style theme (download link a above) that was made for fission 2.+ dx as a base, and then pull stuff from the kangerade theme made for droid2 to the x theme it keeps working on my dx.

once you get the learning idea, at least with doing this; seems to go pretty well. (so far:eek:)....lol.

the only problem that ive found so far is that there are far fewer options in the x theme (since im basically replacing different things in it from the kangerade theme) so the end result gets fewer options. my knowledge level isnt high enough to transfer stuff from the kangerade (as its for d2 fission, not dx) and make it work if it isnt just replacing something that was in the x theme for dx already.

ill look into the batter icon (give me something else to play with).

ive noticed that it may be easy to get that full colored bar on the pulled out slider, or the little arrow as well as change the alarm clock type and should be able to get any of the colors available to the d2.

you can download the x theme, then download the kangerade theme you like. (i make a copy of each somewhere else and put what im working with on the desktop in case i want to start over from scratch, delete and copy to desktop again).
open 7 zip (i put the x theme on bottom) and open another instance of 7 zip and open the kang. theme you want to play with. (open inside 7zip or just double click folder).
then go into framework and (res i think) find the drawable folders.
i dont mess with .xml files. but the .png files i do. (you can see the .png files by clicking copy to desktop and looking at them there).

if the x theme (for dx) has a folder with .png files ill delete the file (like the whole file if they are the same between both thems) and drag and drop the same file over from the kang. theme. then i delete the color folder from the x and drag and drop the kang. color folder.
this seems to give that colored status bar (when pulled down) at bottom and the colored clock. (memory serves).

then you can do the same in apps as did with framework (dont think there is a "color" folder though).
and that seems to give a different clock along with a few colored icons (like calender, again kinda limited by what you can replace in the x theme).
it also seems to put in the black status bar bottom (when pulled out) and colored arrow look.

hope that helps if you go to mess with it, its kinda fun and easier once you get past the short learning curve.

when done i change the name to not confuse and just close 7zip, dont compress.

I installed Kangerade_Blue_2.45_final.zip for the D2.
man, when i didnt hear from ya i thought maybe you were dealing with a boot loop........
if that version will run on our dx then there is no reason to run mine....lol....
i gotta see if i can get it to run.

i canned the link so i could move them down to the bottom so noone else would accidentally do the wrong install. now i cant find it.
ill see if i can....you may have stumbled on something pretty cool....
or got lucky....

ill report back and see what happens to me....

found it on the other one i posted up top....
man i think you found something pretty cool. :)
i know at least one other guy that was dissapointed how long it was taking fission to port this theme for the dx....

wow....
i installed and no boot loop, took awhile to load and i had no network. rebooted and everything is perfect....i really didnt think it would work.

funny thing is i wouldnt have made these other themes if id known we could put a d2 theme for kangerade on a dx without trouble....

other funny thing is i think im going back to mine cause i like the big bright bar at the bottom in the kangerade color....lol.

still thats crazy. i wonder if anyone else knows about this....

nice find man....

might start another thread and see if anyone else knows....

No, it worked fine for me. I think I upgraded that to your version, but not sure. The wife's been playing games on it for a couple hours now.... :D
:)
well thanks for the discovery!....at least it was to me....:D
im still a little in shock....id even asked joe772 in one of his threads when they were gonna port this over for the dx and he said they were working on it but having some problems or something like that. and he is part of the fission team....
wonder if he knows.
guess they are on a different version at this point anyway, rc1 or 2 or something.

either way pretty sweet....nice find man! :D

yep, found one issue.
now even after switching back to "my" theme from the d2 theme that works on dx (2.45) i lose signal to the wireless network every other time i reboot.

im sure i can fix it and get back to running my theme and all, just a heads up as to my experience with running the kangerade made for d2.
