Ok so I cant get my dinc rooted, not sure why

I have done this and checked it
You must install the HBOOT-Capable Universal Drivers.

This took me a while to figure out how to do this because there is no directions how to check the SD card. I did it by mounting as diskdrive, when I clicked on comp there where 3 new drives, I found the one that was 1.83 gig (my sd card) then I formated as fat32, went back in check it it was correct, then I went and mounted back to charge only as in directions

Verify that you have an SD Card installed with at least 2Gb free space. If the SD is smaller than 4Gb, make sure it is FAT32 formatted. Look at it on your PC or Mac to be sure.

Now I run unrevoked 3 let it sit for 30 minutes and it stalls out, I have run it 3 times with the same results,
unrevoked says: waiting for root, (safe to restart if this doenst work) also says recovery image clockworkmod recovery.

It just sit here doing nothing

did you enable debugging mode on your phone? It's in (Settings, Applications, Development). If not, unplug your phone from your computer, then enable this setting, and replug it into your computer. If that doesn't work, it may be that your SD card is too small. The guide says to verify that you have at least 2Gb of free space. A 2Gb card will never actually format to be 2Gb, it will always be less. I would recommend picking up a bigger SD card.

I have read thats the stock 2 gig sd works just fine, many people have used it without any issues.
Yes debug is on and I have followed these directions to the T 3 time over
Rooting the Phone:
  • Get the Reflash.exe program for Android 2.2 Incredible/Evo. Pick the one for your OS (Mac, Windows, or Linux). This program runs on your computer, not on the phone!
  • Verify that you have an SD Card installed with at least 2Gb free space. If the SD is smaller than 4Gb, make sure it is FAT32 formatted. Look at it on your PC or Mac to be sure.
  • Boot the phone normally.
  • Enable USB Debugging (Settings, Applications, Development).
  • Enable Unknown Sources (Settings, Applications at the top).
  • Enable USB "Ask Me" mode (Settings, Connect to PC).
  • Plug in the USB cable and choose Charge Only on the phone. On the Mac you may get an error about not being able to mount, click Ignore.
  • On Windows (only), open the Device Manager and verify that you see the Android listed for ADB as shown in the pix at the bottom of the article linked-to in Preparation-Windows above.
  • Run Reflash on the PC/Max/Linux system.

yeah that's a normal popup that occurred after the froyo 2.2 update. It should only come up if you mount as a disk drive when you connect to your computer though. Many of the ROMs get rid of that popup after you root. As for your drivers, it looks like there installed properly as well. According to the directions when you connect your phone to your computer to run the reflash program, you need to select "charge only" mode on your phone. Make sure your not choosing to mount it as a disk drive. Can your confirm that it is still not working after trying this?

Yes I select charge only, that pop up comes up every time, I have tried reflash like 8 times now every time letting it sit there for at least 15 minutes, once for 1/2 hour and another I went to town for lunch and it sat there for 1 1/2 hours. comp doesnt freeze, reflash just sits there at that point

The reflash program should start working as soon as you hit the button. You would see your phone restart and start loading files almost immediately. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. Is it possible there is some kind of security software on your computer stopping the process from running properly?

Yeah, the process isn't completing for some reason then. Did you by any chance install the new OTA update that starting rolling out over the past few days? I would reccomend deleting and redownloading the unrevoked 3 app and the drivers. Reinstall them and try again. If all of this doesn't work, then I'm not entirely sure what the problem is.
