Guys

Would I be able to receive and install OTA updates after rooting my phone (only rooting to use wifi tether). I know Verizon's coming out with a patch for some of the problems plaguing the X in the next few weeks and of course I want to receive Gingerbread when it's out too

Thank you

If you're running version 2.3.15 and not a custom rom (many roms disable the check for updates), you should be good. You probably also need the apps that came with your phone (CityId, Blockbuster, etc) to successfully update.

what would happen if you don't have those apps any longer? i used titanium backup and uninstalled a few of those kind of apps...

I tried the new 2.2.1 leak that P3 put up through his TBH app. It's nice. It's back to stock. You can't theme it, because themes are set to be used over 2.3.15 and he said that would make them unstable. I like my themes and can wait for updated roms and themes to be written for this update.
