Hello people!

Spearhead Entertainment is happy to announce the upcoming
release of the game Phoenix Spirit coming to the Android on the
24th of November.

It has previously been released on the iDevices and has received mostly positive remarks.
It also won the best mobile phone game at "Swedish Game Awards 2010"

The main appeal of the game is about exploring the forest
and discovering the cause of the Mother Tree's illness.
To do this you will be able to unlock new areas as well
as revisit old areas in order to gain new powers to cure
the disease. People who are familiar with games like
Metroid, Castlevania or Aquaria should feel right at home!

The gameplay is comparable to a traditional shooter but with the
freedom of flying. This adds exciting new gameplay in a whole new dimension!

Phoenix Spirit is a game that is for everyone. Even if you haven't
played games before it will be easy to understand with it's simple
controls and gameplay using the phone's accelerometer or virtual thumbstick.
Getting through the game will be fun and provide plenty of challenge.

Hi spearhead - do you know how many mb the game will be? And have you tested it on a hero or 'similar' device?

Cheers :)

On our Device (Nexus one), it's 9.3 MB all in all, and as we use Unity3D to develop the game, it should be runable on all Armsv7 Devices running Android 2.1 and up, I don't know if Hero is included in these terms though as I'm not the one responsible for Technological questions, but I'll ask our programmer once he gets to the office again on monday :)

Ok, I feel bad, but I had to refund it because I couldn't even play it. As soon as I opened the game, I got a "Old firmware detected" error.
Your device is running an outdated firmware version; please make sure to use the most recent firmware upgrade! Stability can not be assured with the current firmware.
I have an epic 4G with 2.1 and I'm upgraded to the latest firmware, which is weird. Does the phone need to have 2.2 in order to work? I've been waiting for this game since I saw this thread and it's sad I can't even play it now.

Hmm, this is quite wierd, though we've heard that certain phones (like Galaxy S) needs to be updated to 2.2 in order for the game to work, I don't know if that applies to your specific mobile though, but that would be the best shot at it, as we haven't actually tested it on that many devices. Sorry for the inconvenience, we've added the suggestion to the game description at Android Market

Yeah, it does. The Epic 4G is the galaxy S phone for Sprint. So I'd have to wait 'til I get 2.2 in order to play this game. Oh well. It really does look like an amazing game. Great job bringing it to android.
