Root Probably, okay most likely, over my head

Just did the one click root.. now i have no clue what to do. i see that it's installed Superuser, but now what?

I realize this may be stupid, but it's honestly my first droid coming from a palm pre plus and a blackberry. So someone, please?

well depends what you are looking to do :D

for many people root is enough...wireless tether, adfree is enough

rom manager has many of the following things in it.

also its all at xda
Fascinate Android Development - xda-developers

but there custom kernels that reduce lag/improve battery life and add backlight notifications for mised calls/emails

custom roms (not full full roms yet but still improve performance a bit)

mods that add reboot options into power menu, increase soft key backlights

and themes that change status bar/system colors http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/214596-list-fascinate-themes-roms.html

xda is great for getting stuff, but really if you have questions ask here....because as much as i love xda if you ask what they consider "noob" or beginner questions they may or may not jump all over you at times

most of us here tend not to mind answering any and all questions :D

Don't worry about, it every VZW employee is in the same boat as you :D
I have yet to find one that knows anything , other than how to active it, about Android phones. Heck they're still installing Advanced Task Killer on 2.2 phones for new customers.

Hey Verizon the task killer API was removed in 2.2 lol not to mentions its just a bad thing to do to start with.

BTW the best battery life I've gotten so far is with the StupidFast kernel with the SuperDark ROM. Not sure if the ROM makes any difference but its a nice (and IMO the fastest) ROM out.

Any ways you'll catch on its not that hard once you get the hang of basics

fwiw roms can impact battery life. the more trim they are the less stuff the have running and eating battery. but the kernel is the most important (generally)
