Upset Verizon Customer.

Ok, I have been a Verizon customer for over 6 years and in 2008 I got a letter giving me a 20% access discount. When I go my incredible this past April they gave me 20% discount for data. All this, shown in original letter sent to my attention, for being a loyal customer and renewing the contract back in 2008.
Yesterday my company got a deal with Verizon for 17% discount. My 20% discount was never because any company I was working for, just for being a good customer as the letter says. So I went on line and register my phone using the discount with my new company, in the process it says that it was going to check is any discount was available for my phone number and bam, now is showing both discounts in my plan and Verizon says that the 17% will over write the 20% and they can not do anything. That the first one I got was when I worked for a medical company. What??? I have never worked for a medical company. I am really pissed! I got my original discount with not company, just Verizon.

Anyone knows the corporate phone number for Verizon Wireless?

If you were getting 20% off why did you try to apply the 17%? I can see how in their system one over-rode the other. And my guess is that if you get the 20% back they won't apply the 17%.

Also many companies have discounts for their employee that are one discount for the standard plan and another for data. You might want to check into the details of your discount.

So what usually happens is that the 17% actually gives you a bigger discount from your bill because the cheapest minutes plan is around 70 dollars. As for the 20% that is only applied for the 30 dollars data plan if you have the unlimited data.

FWIW to the OP, it seems YOU were trying to take advantage of the company and see if you could hit them with 2x the discounts. Why are YOU the one that is mad? (and this is coming from someone who hates Verizon and would never defend them anyway!)

I have to agree, I hate Verizon totally to the point where there will never, ever be a trace of it in my home, but double dipping on discounts isn't going to work for anyone on any carrier.

Thanks for your comments. Well, it looks like I was getting 20 % off the standard plan and 20% of the data plan because someone put me as an employee of the wrong company two years ago. The letter I received in 2008 did not say anything about applying the discount because the company I was working for. They told me that the company was a medical one, no idea how this got there, never worked for that kind of company in my life.

I just applied for the company discount of 17% because I was not aware that the 20% I had was, supposedly, because of a company discount I was working for., I would not even try If I knew that. Now I have to stick with the discount that I can get at my current job.

It is just three bucks difference and in part was my fault I guess.

At the end they gave me an extra 10% discount on top of the 17% in both lines for a year.

Why you even attempted to apply an inferior discount to your account than what you already had is beyond me.. why you then got mad at THEM when you screwed yourself just makes me laugh.

This is also coming from a guy that hates Verizon with a passion aside from them having the best coverage in my area.
