Hey all, great forum you have here! :)
( I have the Droid 2 and am running the newest software on it )

Very frequently, I send text messages to my Hotmail email account as a form of reminder. This works very well for me.

What I'm trying to do is make a button on my phone's desktop that will open up a blank text message addressed to my email account so I can easily press the button, type in my reminder, and send it on it's way.

Is this possible to do? I tried to make a Quick Contact but it (a) is not the same thing as what I want and (b) wouldn't work with an email address.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, this can be done.
First, got to the market and download an app called Folder Organizer lite.
Once you have that installed, long press your home screen and select shortcuts.
Then select Folder Organizer item.
There you will see many options, but the one you are looking for is direct text.
If you've already created a contact for your email, select it and you're done!

There's also direct dial shorcuts, which come in handy ;)

Thanks so much for the response! Unfortunately, im still having problems with this.

I downloaded that app and it looks great. However, when I try to setup a direct I don't see my email contact! I only see maybe 50 contacts, I think they might be the contacts that actually have phone numbers.

Any ideas how I can force it to recognize the email contact? Thanks again!

I believe you! Im just having some problems, im sorry.

When I try to create a new contact and enter the email in for the phone number, it wont allow me to use letters. Also, the email address Im usung is hotmail not gmail. I tried both direct text and direct email, but no luck. Direct email asks me what I want to open it with, I do txt msg, but then it just opens up a blank text addressed to no one.
