[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

I'm disappointed cause I don't have a new phone but I'll live...Some people seemed to have their hopes and dreams pinned to this device releasing in November.

Having said that, I still don't see the rationally in not putting another high end device out before Christmas.

If released today, the DINC HD would be Verizon's big seller until the iPhone, Tegra2 phones, or whatever else starts coming out in Q1 of 2011. The demand is there...so why isn't the phone?

I feel the CDMA version of the Desire HD would have been a huge hit if nothing was changed or improved upon. Opinions?

i think this was a huge mistake! Vz could have rode the inc hd sales all the way into march with ease. pushing this device back only makes it go from a superior device available right now to just another device compared to the new phones coming out in Q1 of 2011.

the desire hd would have been a success as well. i personally dont like it having only a 1 gig processor. i think that will be sub par soon.

my next hope is that the inc hd will not be sold with 4g packages alone. it would be smarter for big red to sale these new phones with the option of using 3g or 4g since a lot of people dont care for the pricing of lte or are simply not in the coverage area.

It would be a good option for the consumer but a bad business move on VZW to offer a choice. If they make you get a 4g package with a 4g phone then you're spending more money and they're making more money

depends on how you look at it. its true that there will be a significant amount of people not in the coverage are for a long time. it is also true that there a lot of people in the coverage area simply not interested in going to a tiered data package or an increase in their monthly bill. if you make these phones available to the people wanting a 3g device as well those wanting 4g it seems like a win win situation to me.

You know, given how poorly the battery of the Incredible functioned, and some of the little UI quirks (NOT "features" but oversights), I'm not too confident in this model; I don't think HTC addressed any of the issues of the original Incredible. We'll see, I guess.

Does anyone know if the screen is AMOLED? It doesn't look like it. I'd hope it's at least SLCD instead of the TFT screen of the Droid X.

I don't know...I'm tired of looking at non-stop speculation after the DroidForums debacle. What a frickin mess! I must admit...I'm still watching that thread to see the rest of the fighting. I think I would have banned about 10 people if that would have gone on here :p

lol same here i check that thread every hour or so lol! there are still people holding out for a november release! VERY amusing lol

Good Point , I'd be a person interested in getting the LTE model but not having to get it. I'm perfectly fine with 3g , I use wifi most the time. And I am in a spot where LTE will be very available right away , Still when I'm using internet or videos 90% I'm on WiFi

I too think its a big mistake that the INC HD would be delayed until next year... HTC could have had a huge seller on its hands for the holiday season.. At this rate, it will be swallowed up by the Iphone when it launches early next year. I think I'm going to go with a Droid 2 Global.. faster processor, plus i'll be traveling overseas in a few weeks.. and that can hold me over until this device or something nicer releases, I can always pay full price and turn around and sell the Droid2 on Ebay or Craigslist.

Although, if it still launches on the 23rd, I'd have no problems getting it :p

I agree it's a mistake not releasing it before Christmas but I don't think the iPhone will swallow the Inc HD when it's finally released.

-People who know and love android will go with the HD, hands down.
-People who want the "newest and best" will get the iPhone and be dissapointed ;)

I agree with you 100% but there is no denying that the iPhone is the single best selling smartphone ever. Verizon isn't going to lose business...HTC, Motorola, and Samsung will. It is time for these manufactures to step it up in a big way. I won't buy an iPhone but I'm glad it looks to be heading to verizon. Competition is always a good thing :)

true, buts its all bad info now though

Yea...I wish we had a little more solid info. I don't care for the Merge anyway. I'm still within my 30 day return period on my Incredible till Wednesday. If I don't hear news about Inc HD coming out soon by then, I guess I'll just keep it.

It's still a great phone, just wanted front facing cam since I got a feeling a lot of apps are going to start making use of it.

Yes it's a nice phone until that Incredible HD is next to it, return your phone now, unless you really, really, really like your phone then keep it.

from what i have been reading on various tech sites (not sure which one i read this on) is theres going to be 2 versions of the Incredible HD, 1 is going to be strictly 3G and come out this year, possibly the 23rd, and another version is coming out next year with the launch of LTE, if i manage to track down the tech site ill post a link

that is indeed old news and new info has since come out. i wanted this phone as much as anyone. the truth is there will only be one edition of this phone and it will be 4g.

come on guys lets not rehash old information here and get everyone's hopes up like other forums. this phone will come out just not this year.
