So which tablet would everyone buy for their mother?

I posted this to another forum as well, but I think this one is read a little more, so please forgive the duplicate:

I'm considering getting my Mother a tablet for Christmas. She currently has a palm PDA, that she really only uses to play casual games. Obviously they're going out of style, so she can't find newer games on it, plus when she breaks one, it's getting harder to find replacements. I'm thinking about getting the m001 for her since I can find them for around $85 shipped on aliexpress.

Are there enough games on the market for 1.6?

I realize this is a lower end item, so I know it's not the best performing, but is it decent enough for this kind of use?

What about battery life? I've heard mixed reviews on this point.

Would you give this tablet to your mother as a gift? If not, which one would you give instead?

I appreciate the honest answer. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my original intention. She will never use this for anything more than playing the occasional game of Solitaire, minesweeper, or maybe bejeweled. For several years now I've considered getting her a Nintendo DS, but I don't think she'd like having to deal with all the cartridges. If these tablets are really that terrible, the DS would really be the next best choice in my mind. The ipad seems like a waste of a lot of money given the limited use it would see, plus it wouldn't fit in her purse (a 7" tablet would probably be the largest I'd want to go.) Really my largest concern is battery life. I've read reviews of several tablets and it seems like everyone gives a different answer on this front. I was hoping someone who actually owns one could clarify that part, as well as their opinions on the other points.

Having had an eo and having the epic, I think that 4-5" screen size is the limit for pocketability (own an archos 70 too, fo now). The 43 will be more like a traditional pda and be as similar as you'll get these days to an old Palm. The "PDA" has pretty much gone by the wayside. She'll be able to play games, check email, surf the web and so on. The latter can be done over wifi. Games can be downloaded over wifi easily. When she doesn't need wifi she can just turn it off and conserve battery life. With no radios consuming the battery, battery life should be much improved compared to an Evo or Epic. And you can't beat the price..

I'm a full fledged android user, but I still feel that ipads are more user friendly than anything that android has to offer at the moment.
As an owner of both an iPod Touch and a 7" Chinese "no name" Android tablet, I agree. I absolutely love using my Android tablet, but they are not quite "ready for prime time". Apps occasionally lock up, settings need tweaking, odd things sometimes happen, etc. The iOs machines are just a lot more seamless and 'consumer friendly'.

Maybe in another six months or a year, when big name brand companies are putting out tablets with Android 3.0 or whatever, things will be a bit better, but for now I would not recommend giving a tablet to anyone who isn't "tech savvy", and reasonably comfortable with new technology.
