I've searched loads of threads on the forum but can't an answer for this!

I like having my hotmail pushed to me and becasue the HTC client doesn't support hotmail push I've downloaded and used the stock android email.apk. It works fine (pushes) but the emails are not HTML

There is no option to display as HTML but I've seen it display HTML from other email clients!

Apparently HTC have massively screwed up. As I understand it, in the mail app, there is support for exchange server. In there you can input hotmail (domain name leave blank, server name m.hotmail.com, log on and username = your full hotmail address, and password being your log on password, accept the ssl security).

The account logs in fine but when you try to properly activate it, it fails because HTC's mail app does not support some sort of security... or certificate... or something, and to turn them off is considered really stupid and unsecure. So unless HTC sort it out, nothing.

I could be wrong.

For now, I have a dolphin HD bookmark on my homescreen, and have enabled it to remember cookies, so when I press that, it loads up mobile hotmail. It's not push but it's the best I can do for now.

i use hotmail all the time through the stock mail app with no problems 95% of html pages load of fine with me.

It's not flawless push like the gmail app though. i.e. emails buzzing on your phone when they are received in real time, not when you set it to sync at regular intervals, proper syncing of deleting, sending reading emails with the web, and not just on your phone etc.

Cheers for clearing that up, yeah read it somewhere else but was explained in a more complicated way!

I just want the stock android app not the htc one (because of the reason explained above) to support html!

It does not work with HTC standard email app. It does work with "improved mail". I've been using it for 2 months now and I'm very pleased with it.
