Well I personally prefer multitasking and removable battery but fact it at this point with winmo and android devices multitasking requires you managing your memory and no matter what it is leading to lag and instability. I have run google maps with much smoother and more accurate GPS than was on my droid (droid is a bit jerky) while playing Itunes in the BG and taking a call. When you leave apps and return it is right where you left off. Wait till you are on the droid you'll see plenty of locked up windows with a popup that says force quit or wait as your background processes are locking up your unit. Most guys throw out the pandora in the background but when i last used pandora it was laggy as hell. Just look at the reviews in the android market. Who needs pandora anyway when you can have every song you ever wanted locally on device, not compressed and streamed.
I have used this 3Gs for 5 days now and run it ragged and although i would prefer a removable battery, even with 3G/WIFI/GPS/Bluetooth all on the battery seems to last almost twice as long.
You say "I just got my BLUETOOTH ON MY 3G! A2DP and NO AVRCP!!" Well guess what? They dont exist on Android period across the board. No voice activated dialing, no music player control, no lockscreen music control. Only audio transmission and return last call, now that is WEAK....
Facebook??? Who cares if the Dev quit. The facebook app on iphone is unbelieveable compared to Android and winmo. Androids FB app is the pits just wait till you try it out it is even worse than winmo and I didn't think it could get worse than that. You cant even make inbox replies....
It will be unfaired for me to elaborate on the Droid at this time ( I will find out in early 2010 when I get it in canada) because I haven't got the CHANCE or the privilege to use it.Like I said before I only had my hands on it for about 10mins because the store was so crowded on your U.S thanksgiving.Within the 10 mins I was awed by the multitasking abilities. The rest of the info that I gathered about the pros and cons are from this community, which I thought were very honest more than I can say for the Iphone users in the other 2 iphone forum sites that joined and for your informations,I was just as surprised to find that there are so many ex-Iphone Users here.I hope that some of them might actually read this post and put our debate to rest once and for all.
I've been using both the Iphone 3g for almost a year now and when I tried the Droid the screen resolution was much better, the audio was definitely better.I just felt the Droid was so much easier to use than the iphone. It just felt like I was using my laptop and I was sold. Let's put it this way,it's like going for a test drive a new car and you know straight away, wow, it's a nice car and it sure feels better than the you owned that you wanted all your life and something even better came along. Now you know you can replaced it.The best I can sum it up.What can I say.
Let's not go there, the Iphone has been out for a few years now and the Droid is only a few months old. So far what the Droid has done is stunting and I hate to see what this awesome phone is going to turn into?
I hate to perseverate, what have Iphone evolved into the last few years beside updated the S. I am sick of playing games and if I am into games, seriously I get a X-box and play with my friends on my 50 inch Sony.
I also detested that same old argument my iphone can play games and have more apps.We all know that and please enough already.I've 2 iphone 3g too.
Please do not go into the GPS area, google gps on this unit is second to none and it's one awesome beast.PEROID! it's only beta!!I have seen on youtubes and write-ups even the iphone suck-up writers have good things to say about the GPS on the Droid. It is pretty hard to get a good reviews on any Andriod phones this day unless it an Iphone, even it was a 1st gen Iphone.BTW, I don't read their reviews anymore if I wanted to, I can get it from the Droid community with honesty, especially the users with difference smartphones background.WHO SHOULD KNOW MORE ABOUT THEIR PHONES beside sometime writers who had for a couple of weeks!
Out of curiosity, why are you doing in this community,it don't looks like you 're getting an Android phone anytime soon? Are you a Devil advocate? If you're trying to change somebody's mind about the DROID, you're wasting your time. People who joined this community are people like me who are not satisfied with present phones and are ready to switch to an Android phone. In my case, I am ready for the Droid and so far I liked what read.
By next year when I get my actual Milestone and I'll tell you how I fair with it. I know it's not a perfect phone, don't fool yourself the iphone is far from it. I am willing to stick out and I am sure it's going to evolve into a awesome device.I also believed that it's the phone of the future.Just like Iphone found it's niche'with kids and women who want to do a couple e-mails and games as simple as possible. As for me, I like challenges and have fun with the Droid customizing. I am quite tech-savvy.
Bottom-line is, iphone is car with Automatic trans. and the Droid is a sport car with 6 speed manual trans. not everyone can drive properly.
To me, it is still the control thing about apple. That's why I'll never own a Mac,ever! I bought the Iphones because of the Jailbreak like many people that I know. With Iphone the novelty wears off very fast. A few people have told me and I tend to agree.
@@ I seriously doubt you owned a Droid. Sorry, that is my opinion and that's what gathered.
