Show us your DHD Screens!

ive jsut tried launcher dont know wot im doing lol can get some icons on the home screen but not my clock any advice?

I do not use launcher, but I do know that to change your clock, you need a different clock widget.

TO get a clock ON there, long press, then select widgets, then find the clock you want to use and select.

I think I might write some mini-tutorials for it though, because the instructions on the dev site are a bit... but then they are looking at it from the other side to non-devs so....

Maybe if their own instructions aren't so good you could send them yours and suggest they put them on the site? I'd imagine they've written it all from a developer's point of view, it's a pretty easy trap to fall into when writing for people who aren't as as knowledgeable as you on the subject about which you are writing.

I clucking love QR codes!! :D

If you want to PM your email, I can add you as a user, to my whole "public" folder, otherwise, I'll have to send you a link for EACH icon in the set and there are a lot! I wish dropbox would let me just link to a folder, but I think to prevent everyone hitting that link, they don't at present - but if I share it with you, then you can go get whatever you like from there.

Maybe you could put them all in a ZIP file?

Kudos for all your help ann! I found out before i read your post. Felt really dumb that i missed it like 10 times lol! This thread will come in handy for other newbies
in the future.:p

The future is now, and I am other newbies!! :D

Well thanks Anneatkins for all that wonderful information! You are marvellous :) So you don't need to root the device to do any of this stuff then? I'm a little weary of doing so, as I understand this voids the warranty, and being that this is my first smartphone I think I should get to know how to use it before fiddling with things I shouldn't be fiddling with.

I have to ask, there were so many apps mentioned in this thread, what do they all actually do? Namely, there's Astro, LaunchPro, SwitchPro, Folder Organiser, Widget Locker and Desktop Visualiser, though I'm sure I've missed one or two. Sorry for all the questions, I'm a bit new to this

Or not. ;-) Then I would have to update and upload a zipfile whenever I add a new wallpaper? Nah.

No, except to take screenshots but Visionary will temporarily allow you root access, so you can use shoot me to get your screenshots (and other things!)

Astro: File Manager. Can explore, move, rename, cut, paste, organise, etc all the files on your phone and SD card.

LaunchPro: An app launcher that allows you to change icons and other stuff, changes your screens/skin to launch pro style.

Switch Pro: Allows you to make single switches or sets of switches to turn things off and on on your phone, such as GPS, 3G, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode as well as other things like a battery stat icon, etc.

Folder Organizer: Change icons, remove text from icons, place widgets using new icons on screens, label apps so yoiu can make a widget displaying shortcuts to all apps so labled, in a handy "drawer" on your screen, and a bunch more. This is an awesome little app, truly.

Widget Locker: Gives you an 8th screen, a "lockscreen" which is customisiable to include widgets on your lock screen. Hence the name.

Desktop Visualiser: No idea. Sorry.

Anne, is it worth getting the full version of Folder Organiser? There's no difference in the descriptions of the free and paid versions on the market, but I assume the paid one must have something extra in it.

Styxx here's is a small list of the things in the lite and the full version:

When buying an app from the market, the only payment option is "Credit Card". Are there no other options for this? Also, will it work with a debit card if I choose this option? I don't actually have a credit card, as I think they're little plastic one-way tickets to unhappiness.

A little off-topic, but I found this today. It seems like the sort of thing Android users would enjoy:

You can use a debit card on the market too. Most of the time a debit card works despite saying Credit Card. Worked for me anyway.

Big thanks to anneatkins.
All you need is Multi picture & Folder Organiser apps, you can make your screens appear as you like without any need for rooting.
Go to mysitemyway.com &/or iconfinder.com for tons of icon designs. no doubt there's many more sites for the same thing.

Of course, a few widgets & switches here & there help (I highly recommend EasySwitch - 12 switches on 1x4 grid, most i've seen).

Bemused that screen shots can only be done on rooted devices, otherwise i'd have mine posted.

Oh lord maybe its me and its really early in the morning but I still can't get the multiple wall paper lark to work correctly...lol..

Ok! so besides setting this in live wallpapers, where do I go on from here? Tried to double click home screens, there isn't an app showing for multiple live wallpapers....do I need to set it in gallery of summin? Lol I feel like such a fool... and thanks in advance all!

Edit: ok so by luck I was able to access its settings via the notification icon when u first installed it...so able to art individual customized screens. But how do u normally access the multiple live wallpapers settings? Can't find the app icon in my app tray...can't seem to find it when u go into settings? Where am I going wring here?

Hardware key MENU -> Wallpaper -> Live Wallpapers -> Go/scroll to the MultiPicture Live Wallpaper (it is the last one on mine) and select PREVIEW, then you'll have a SETTINGS key on screen (bottom right), touch SETTINGS, set each screen to what youn want and any other preferences and done.

Eh, the only REAL difference (for changing icons purposes, though it does a LOT more than that) is being able to just select your icon AS you create the widget (folder organiser item), rather than changing all the icons FIRST (see original folder organiser instructions in this thread) and then going through and creating each widget after having set each icon how you like it.

Basically, shortens the process by a step and a bunch of tapping around.

The other benefit to PAID version - is the support of the dev and for a few hundred quid phone, a few bucks for an app to help the phone be even more awesome is worth it, imho.
