I've been on BB V0.5 for a while but wanted to try a FRG83 based ROM. LFY had treated me well in the past, so I figured I'd give v1.95 a try.

Initial impressions are very favorable.

So far, only issue I've encountered is weird display issue with the Battery Percentage. I enabled the setting in Liquid Tweaks and reboot... but it appeared there were two percentages, slightly offset over the battery icon. I disabled the battery percentage setting and reboot. Well, I can see the percentage still, but the offset second percentage is gone. Soooooo.... yeah, a bit confused about that.

Other note would be the default boot animation just isn't my cup of tea (to put it mildly) so I'm going to have find a replacement.

Will report back as I spend more time with it.

EDIT1: Wallpaper gallery shows two options, but both are blank. Trying to apply either causes FC.

In the changelog, does this (sic)...

"tweaked build.prop values for smoother transitions and better preformance (credit liquid)"

...mean that I don't need to bother with the Samsonite801 fix this time around?

Thanks.

For what's it's worth, I have tweaked the build.prop file for every ROM I've run for months now, but I also always run the command for the Samsonite801 fix every time I wipe and install a new ROM version. I need to do this because my Sweeter Home 2 theme is so heavy. You may not need to with the launcher setup you're running. If you're not seeing any redraw delay without it, then no need to run the Samsonite801 fix. If you start seeing any lag or redraw delay, clear your Dalvik cache and run the Samsonite801 command.

Well, I've been using LFY v1.95 for several days, and on the whole, I am still very happy with it.

Some issues, as hinted at before:

Battery Percentage:
First, even though the option is not enabled, the percentage is still shown:
uc

Second, if I enable the option, there are two, slightly offset percentages:
uc

On the whole, this isn't a big deal for me, since I want the percentage, so I just leave the option unchecked. But if someone doesn't want the percentage, they wouldn't be able to disable it, as far as I can tell.

Google Search:
For some reason, the word 'Google' in the Google Search app looks bad; VERY minor issue..
uc

Wallpaper gallery:
There aren't any wall papers in the gallery, which isn't a big deal since I can easily set a wallpaper via other means. If I hit 'Set Wallpaper' I get a force close for LauncherPro.

Kernel:
I came from Bugless Beast V0.5 and was using chevyNo1's 1200MHz ULV kernel. My battery life was great and it ran nice and cool. I found the default kernel with LFY to run just way too hot and my battery life was atrocious. I was doing some web browsing on my phone during a meeting yesterday and was at 50% in about 2 hours. Room was dimly lit which meant my screen brightness was pretty low. I stopped using the Interactive scaling option, but it was still getting way too hot. I also had a few multi-boot failures with the Slayher kernel; occasionally when rebooting the phone, it would take 2-3 tries to get past the Motorola M. I've never had this issue with the ChevyNo1 kernel. I changed back to the ChevyNo1 kernel and things are better, for me.

Other things:
- Is there a reason why the boot animation with the default ROM/Theme is different than the others?
- Would prefer the arrows indicating data access for 3G used a different color than White (Inactive) / Gray (Active). I can just barely notice the difference.
- Even with the Auto-brightness level set to the lowest level (2), it still doesn't get dim enough for my tastes (BBV0.5 did). I tend to use my phone in bed with the lights off before falling asleep and want the screen as dark as possible.
- I love the Liquid Tweaks app. It is such a clean, elegant and simple way to make tweaks. About the only problem is because it is so clean and elegant, and hence similar to the System settings, I often find myself going into System Settings looking for the Liquid Tweaks!!!

The issues I've had are either easily corrected/worked around or are just me, admittedly, being nit-picky. In the end, a very solid ROM. I love the default theme and plan to use this ROM for a while.

Okay, so this is probably a stupid question and I'm probably just missing it, but I've installed LFY 1.95 and the blueberry theme and I love it....but what I don't get and can't figure out is the buttons across the bottom of the screen. Mine are still stock LauncherPro buttons just colored blue. How do I get the buttons to look like the ones in the Blueberry screenshot? Or any of the other themes for that matter, tried Revolution and Watermark and still only get the stock buttons from LauncherPro.

Any insight is appreciated, I know it's probably something stupid but I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

very simple on my launcher, but good question anyhow...
I am using the plus version. I don't remember if that enabled Dock changes or not.

I just long press the icon I want to change..
you'll have 3 options..
-change shortcut (change to what ever app you need)
-change icon (changes the picture to ANYTHING)
-swipe gesture

I'm a little new to rooting and roms. I've changed through several different ROM's just to get an easier feeling about the process, but one thing I'm having a problem with is battery life. How exactly do you flash only the kernel and leave the theme and everything else in tact?

Just down load the kerna .zip and flash just as you do you theme on top of the rom.

I tried that, but my phone wouldn't do anything after that. I had to restore to my last full backup to get it working again.

UPDATE - So I figured out that I was using the wrong version. I found the right one and that is worked.

However, I do have another question. I'd like to know if anyone else has problems with their widgets not functioning. I'm running LFY 1.95 with the Revo theme. When I reboot (and even when I mount my SD card to my pc) I then get a message that the widget could not be loaded. What am I doing wrong?
