im new to the forums and will be upgrading my and my wifes phone to androind in 2 weeks.
im doing some research, and would like some advice on phones
heres a list of things to consider

1. im a verizon wireless customer
2. i currently have an omnia w/ winmo
3. my home pc is win7 ultimate64
4. flashing is not a problem
5. phone must be rootable and able to wifi tether
6. wife has no smartphone experience, but wants one, slide out kb preferred

soooo what would you suggest?
im currently looking at:
for me: DX, Dinc, Fascinate
for wife: droid, droid2, or same as me

a bogo/boga would be nice
any retailer you would suggest? i usually buy from the verizon online store but since they ditched the instant discount im searching for a price point

upgrade date is 11/29

Best Buy will probably be your best option as they include all the rebates in the price. They are also offering the Fascinate for $1 on Black Friday. :D Just don't let them install anything on your phone or set up your accounts.

thats 3 days too early for the wife, although i could do mine then
for some reasont here is 3 days difference in our dates, i may not have activated hers right away

I'd just call Verizon and let them know what you are trying to do. They are typically very good about things like that. They should jump to it if you are adding another data plan too.

i actually added the data plan yesterday under the promo they have
it was the 139.99 promo for 2 lines w/ unlimited data, texts, m2m, per phone w/1400 anytime minutes, and 19.99 for each extra line for same
big savings

Where did you see that promo or is it something through your work? Data plans are normally $29.99 per line extra with smartphones.

im suprised it wasnt posted already on this site

It is, I just didn't see it before today. I need to visit the Verizon part of the forum a little more often.

http://androidforums.com/verizon/213376-promo-plan-unlimited-data-text.html

Looks like it's only available to certrain people/areas? Can anyone confirm that?

The rep I spoke with, Droid 1 user BTW, told me that it was limited to people on family plans with 1400 minutes or more with an account in good standing. From what I have been reading it was first restricted to people that received a special email from Verizon. Apparently they are willing to let others do it too now. The big thing is that all the lines have to have a data plan or you have to add one to each.
