Sprint's $10 monthly hidden fee for Evo

Watch out if you get the EVO from Sprint. There is a $10 per month hidden fee that they do not mention. This fee is on top of the regular amount it takes to upgrade the data plan. There was nothing to indicate this at the time of purchase. I called and complained but they will not adjust the amount.

Not sure what store you went to but the ones I checked were up front about the 4G fee.

yea and most ppl actually read the contract before signing it. :rolleyes:
Whether they do or not is irrelevant. When I bought my Android phones (twice now) they spelled out the contract several times throughout the process.

There is no way the $10 fee could have been missed, unless you were drunk or stoned.

The $10 fee is well publicized, well communicated. If a buyer these days STILL don't know about it, the blame clearly lies on the buyer.

I mean come on, there has to be SOME responsibility of the buyer, right??? Not to mention they have 30 DAYS to return the phone after purchase if they don't like it.

After I left the store, I got letters and emails confirming my new plan, spelling out the changes. Hell if a buyer ignore those, then the buyer is just stupid.

I don't see how it's any more clear than that.

what hidden fee? I only see the 10 dollar premium data fee.

When I got home and looked at my receipt there clearly was a 'premium data fee' in the amount of $10.00. And I dont know how many times I had to tell the Best Buy Rep that I already knew about the fee. Now it may be true that some store reps forget to explain the fee to customers, because they sure as hell forgot to explain the $29.99 hotspot fee to many, and customers called into Tech Support/Acct. Services etc. going off on agents because their forgetfulness.

BUT if this person got an EVO its clear he had to do some research right? I mean who goes into a store and spends $200 ($449.99 without a contract) without knowing what they are buying?

If you ask me, I think this whole thread was a joke. But it worked, because the replies alone are HILARIOUS!

i'm not defending the op just getting serious here since everyone who was posting made it out to be a joke. also i agree that's its the buyers fault for not reading the contract and reading up on it.

The Hotspot fee isn't mandatory. You have to request it to added to your account before using it.
