Anybody know how I can go back to the pre-OTA way?

Thanks...

I just noticed the same thing but as far as I'm concerned it's a good deal. I prefer having the control over what gets deleted and what stays.

me too. glad i'm not going crazy

I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not, but I noticed yesterday when I was trying to send my brother a short video clip just dinking around on the phone it came up saying that the file was too large. BUT I am not sure if that was because I was trying to send it as a text message or not. What's the file size limit for texting videos to someone?

Email file attachment size has been dropped to 5Mb by this stupid OTA.
If you want to send more than 3-4 seconds of HD video now, you're out of luck !!

I use K9 and I was able to send a 8MB video just now (I do have the update and I am not rooted). (side note: while I use K9 for gmail, it sends via a different account through K9)

I am currently trying out a 25MB video but I am not sure I could ever sent any that big.

Since the upgrade, I've received several forced closes on com.android.phone. I don't use many apps from the store. I haven't changed a thing on the phone. Whatever is doing it, it is the OTA or some interaction with the few things I use.

Also the Backup Assistant hung once. I didn't try to use a task killer but just rebooted the phone to clear it. First time that BA gave me problems too.

I too been having issues with apps freezing or hanging and overall slowness with the phone. I am not rooted by the way. I did a complete phone reset and reconfigured everything and now no issues at all. I know it suxs but a complete phone reset should fix your issues, it has for me.

I am so thoroughly fed up with this horse $H!T. The only thing this update fixed for me is that the battery now charges quickly (as opposed to draining when on car charger with maps running, for instance). Streaming audio (such as Slacker) is still USELESS because it continues to only partially load songs before skipping to the next. 3G service is TRASH. I have to turn wi-fi off and back on MANY times a day just to be able to browse. My HTC weather app often has either "no data" or thinks I live in eastern Europe or Greece. My sister in TN has many of the same issues and others that I have. And HTC, Google, and Verizon sit on their hands for MONTHS then feed us this stale breadcrumb of a "patch". What total BS.

Maybe so HarleyChick...maybe so. I was absolutely in love with this phone with 2.1. Ever since, it is trash. I did a full factory reset for 2.2 and the same problems returned. They sent me a replacement which had an LCD screen + all the same issues, so I did not keep it. The reality of this is that the phone itself is FINE. It's these LOUSY software versions which are at fault. [FONT=&quot]

I'm happy with my phone, and I have not done the update, I get great battery life for the amount I use my phone, and I'm settled in I guess with how my phone is right now. I guess I'll just keep ignoring the update for the time being.

Plus I don't think I can apply it right now anyway, seeing as I'm rooted. (shutters at what happened last time I tried applying update to my rooted Dinc)

I got the OTA update notification yesterday and told it to install. It froze at rebooting the phone so I had to shut it off myself and apparently it never installed. I haven't seen another notification and from all the problems reported, I don't think I'll accept it if it comes up again.

This happened to me twice. The first time was at least a week or so ago. I thought it wouldn't come back but this morning the phone was bothering me again...I gave in and tried to do the update and, again, it froze at the rebooting stage.

Is this because of the root?

Long time lurker here and rooted...anyways

I'm in the same boat. I consider myself a heavy user. I get the battery life I need from the bump charge before I leave for work in the morning to the time I get in bed at night, I'll be left with about 10% battery life. So about a solid 13 hrs of constant data with work emails/personal/texts/music/pandora and of course the occasional calls. Weekends I can usually get to bed with about 30-40%

I've gotten the notification once before-Note that I am rooted. I told it to install the OTA update and it began its countdown to reboot but stalled there. I put it into sleep mode then woke it up and it acted like the OTA prompt never existed. I've yet to get a notification to do the OTA update since. I've also checked for any software updates and says I have the latest.

I think I'll stick with what's working and leave the OTA update alone. There's a manual install method for those who are Rooted as well, but I think I'll forgo this Update.

Don't fix what's not broken!

olbriar!! long time no see!! (it's nmayer, i had an identity crisis, lol)

It's been too long my friend... good to see you and I like your change!

As I reported... I was having all kinds of trouble with my 3g connections since the OTA. I belive I found the culprit. WeatherBug Elite has been struggling to load it's information ever since the 2.2 OTA and after watching it a bit.. it's not loading at all now. I kicked it to the curb and for two days now I've had zero problems with my 3g. Tomorrow I try reinstalling the app and see if my troubles return. I seriously think the app was causing my problems and I'm guessing a fresh install will likely not be a problem. I keep forgetting this Incredible is a tiny PC and it doesn't take much for it to stumble and fart on it's self.

I've never rooted my phone. I am using launcher pro though.
