Hi! I just got an HTC Desire a couple of days ago (3G, CellularSouth), moving from an old Blackberry Pearl Flip, which was my 2nd Bb. I carried various Palms for over 10 years, so the bigger form factor wasn't an issue.

I have a 14 day grace period on this phone, during which it can go back, and I've already been back to the store three times in 36 hours. Simply put, I either need to have three Exchange accounts configured or a system that will "IMAP-ize" them. With the Blackberry, it took less than 10 minutes to set up all six of my email accounts to a single in-box, but with the Desire, it took about 10 hours to get four of them set up, another 4 to get the fifth working, and the 6th seems to be in the "you can't get there from here" category. We'll see, since I have the sysadmins working on it now...

But it would be a shame to return this lovely piece of eye candy (and eat the early reactivation fee) because Blackberry has the email thing nailed and Droid doesn't... (

Somebody tell me there is hope & I'll search these forums! TIA

Welcome to the Android Forums!

Remember that BB is a niche business tool... it's designed specifically for that sort of thing.

I was afraid someone would tell me that. Well, I guess this was a short stay on the forums ... Will go exchange this toy for another Blackberrry tomorrow... Thanks for the tip. I wish the cell store guy had told me that up front when I asked him if this phone would support six email accounts...

We honestly don't want to chase you off... there are some Android phones that can likely handle six email accounts (the 3 Exchange accounts, however, can be somewhat more daunting).

No offense taken, but it does amaze me that this so-called top-of-the-line phone cannot run circles around a device (Blackberry) that is essentially still using the same technology it used ten years ago. I guess the Droid designers figure animations sell phones... Oh well, it was fun, albeit a bit frustrating...
