Gingerbread and all the fixes will be released by Motorola tomorrow. But only to select beta users. The beta users will be chosen by how many times you hit the check updates button within a two minute period. Only problem is they haven't said when that period is, so I suggest trying it continually tomorrow.

Trust me, I stayed in a Holiday Express last night.

DOn't count on 2.3 until somewhere from Spring to Summer. Seems near a 6 month turn around from Google releasing to many phones starting to see the new update. It is possible this will be shorter if Gingerbread really removes the need for custom UIs and Motorola doesn't put Blur on it, but don't hold your breath.

In this post:
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...ed-nevr-duplicated-rubix-focused-1-8-6-a.html

It mentions--> "**First 2.2.1 Droid X rom "

Is 2.2.1 the update or is this referring to something totally different?

this is the update. I tried the 2.2.1 update on my phone. it was buggy. There are fixes though, but I didn't care to mess with them. I haven't tried the 1.6, yet. I may tonight.

How 'bout you guys be nice to the OP, HUH? ;) Everyone was a newbie, once, even me. ;)
