Help Car Dock App Sucks.....

So I finally bought the Motorola car dock and car charger for when I'm traveling this thanksgiving. The only problem is that the "Car Home" app sucks big time. I can't change the navigation app to Aura, I can't change the music player, I can't move or change the default apps on the home screen, and I can't even change the wallpaper. Sucks Big Time....

Is there a better app for when the phone is docked in the car?? All I want to do is change the default GPS app, add and remove apps, move icons, and change the wallpaper....lol, is that to much to ask?

I don't know if it matters but I'm running ApeX V1.0, NexTheme, and LaucherPro Plus. Please say there is a better alternative.

Try Vlingi InCar. Download Vlingo, install and use the InCar app that is located in the add shortcut scroll list, not launch app.

The Vlingo InCar app is highly functional as a hands free way to do many tasks, includes a msg reader as well.

i have the car home app, and i like the layout and having my speed, direction, and weather there along with its customizability, but damn it destroys the battery...if i'm using the car dock, i'm normally charging, but when car home is on, the battery drains while its plugged in...

I also found one myself called Custom Car Home (CCH), you can find in the market for free. It doesn't have rate of speed and compass direction like the Car Home app but it can be customized. I will have to try them all out and see which will work best for my needs...

You could add the new official CarHome app also if you want.

Install it like you would a rom;

That was made for rubiX, but I don't think it should be a problem to install on other roms. Alternatly you could extract the 2 apk's and put them in your /system/app folder.

If you guys are still looking for a free alternative this Digital Dash App has been working well for me. The developer seems to be taking requests too. Docking this phone is awesome tho, makes it so much more useful in the car. Love it.
